Good evening all, and welcome to Nungate Towers, so come on down and let our revels begin.............I sure could use the company!!
Tonight's Tailcock is the "Nungate Abandoned" a somewhat solitary yet interesting brew, on account that everyone has gone off and left me here all alone,......all on me tod.......just me and five moggies, who, however sweet they are, they are not scintillating conversationalists!
Igor is by the door waiting to collect all coats, cloaks, and broomsticks ready for concealment in various crooks and nannies around the Towers,
members please note all outer garments are left at their owners risk [i Our Hot plate special for tonight is a delicious cottage pie (we had some derelict cottages on the estate and I do hate to see waste ........) horses doovers, canopies and our world famous (at least in the AB World) volly vonts, and on our pudding trolley we have a selection of ice creams, and of course every possible (within reason) topping, and a choice of ice cream sauces, and whipped cream! Time to make your own sundaes!!
In the Great Hall gallery, the Minstrels are busy setting up and getting ready to give us their now legendary (in their minds at least) selection of madrigals, toccatas and as a special treat they will throw in a cantata or two
[i] stifles a yawn ] meanwhile down in the ballroom, for those members wishing a bit of a dance we have engaged the services of our favourite local band The Tone Deafs
Members will please note that the bungee will be reinstated at the beginning of next month, the same goes for the hot tub, which is currently enjoying a brief sojourn with the indoor pool down in the dungeons, mini bar has been keeping them company (and has also been refilled)
The snug has a nice cosy fire, and nice comfy sofas just ready for members in search of a quiet evening. Anyone one wishing to visit the conservatory is reminded not to feed the Triffid, it's not due another feed until Easter....
Would members please remember to collect their tickets for the rofl from Belle in the vestibule, and if you wish to stay over please let her know so that the guests suites can be prepared.

A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

That's a good idea Daisy, hand luggage only!

Oh dear, Poor Teddy, he's getting upset, very windy here tonight
Igor, another bucket for me and some of that delicious cottage pie ( please remove all bricks and tiles first though ) if you please, thanks.
All the ingredients we thoroughly sieved before they went in the pie Tony sir,
I watched the chef today, I was at a bit of a loose end so I spent some time in the kitchens
What's the cement like, Igor?
Daughter not doing paid work, two voluntary jobs which take up an awful amount of time for no reward, one very hardworking husband and two fabulous offspring who unfortunately cost!
Only way we could afford GD's birthday treat!
the cement? smooth and creamy of course! The chef was giving it laldy!
Would appreciate another bucket Igor and some of your delicious volleys. What are they tonight, do you know?
All the ingredients we thoroughly sieved before they went in the pie Tony sir,

Quite right too Daisy. Friend and I did a week in Paris on only £100 or thereabouts! Poor and single back then! Trick we found was to "go native" go where the Parisians go and avoid tourist haunts for eating and drinking, and if I remember rightly my ancient book Pauper's Paris was right in saying instead of taking a guided tour, was to hop on a regular bus as they passed all the places in the tourist guides. Though one of our best things was sitting on the steps of the Opera people watching! We did eventually go inside but that was probably the last time I was there.
give it some stick, esp. singing, Daisy.....
Used to live there - but not in the Opera.....
