Doesn't count no - the song is 'M'.
Have you tried asking the setter beadcrazy in case there is an error
The setter confirmed to me that this question was correct.
Did the setter tell you the answer, Furry? :-)
Reading between the lines I have the feeling Mamyalynne knows the answer. It has me stumped though. I normally get these pretty quickly as music 1950-2020 is my specialist subject, but on this one I've found all the countries and trawled through the song title search sites and can't find any PS ones. I got a Smashing Pumpkins one but that's the wrong way round.
I'm wondering- do fictional countries count?
Sadly not Tilly, afraid just sent mine off with a complete guess, completely baffled.
I agree with you, FF. I think Mamya has the answer.

Good luck, Furry.
I've also tried listing all the PS artists and then going through song lists:
paul simon
pluto shervington
Patrick swayze
Patti Smith
Patty Smythe
percy sledge
pete seeger
peter sellers
pete & peter shelley
pointer sisters
Primal scream
polysphonic spree
prefab sprout

This list may trigger some ideas for someone but I couldn't find any songs with a single word answer (which is what Mamyalynne seemed to suggest we need) , but as I mentioned earlier I did get things like Bay of Mexico if that counts.

Maybe it was someone not recognised primarily as a singer- say Phillip Schofield or Pamela Stephenson
you missed Peter Sarstedt, not sure if that is the correct spelling...

Yes I did this time but I'd covered him in an earlier post. Couldn't find anything unless the setter things Marguerite is a country
I can assure you all that I don't have the answer - I am all Googled and listed out and have been through many tomes of books too.
I think ChinaJan has it - her suggestion is listed as a 1952 single in his discography
i found Mozambique by paul simon but video no longer available on you tube
Chinajan's suggestion would be...

BOM by PS

Mally, we don't need a video, a link to the discography or article where it is listed as simple 'M' by Paul Simon is fine
We could do with knowing some other examples of Qs and As- eg would Bird of Malawi by Publicity Stunts be acceptable. (I made that up)
I searched numerous times for that M by Paul Simon but could not find one by him- only the Dylan song and others)
I mentioned the paul simon as I put Mozambique by paul simon in search and it came up on you tube but you can't get the record now
As we have established it's a 'no asking' quiz not sure it would be fair to list other Q&As - suffice to say all the others are listed as per title and artist.
Okay, thanks- although beadcrazy has not made it clear that the song title and artist are exactly in the form M by PS, although as no-one (including those who have the quiz) seems to have corrected that I am pretty sure that it must be a one word song title we need plus the name of the artist(s)
eg - The Great Wall of China by Billy Joel

TGWOC by BJ

(not in the quiz)
I have made it clear.
