Mice In The Garage...again!

I have only seen one but there may be others.

Consequently, I have bought some lavender joss sticks to burn in the garage so that the mice pack their bags and clear off.

Apparently, mice hate the smell and will be repelled by the very strong aroma produced by the two joss sticks smouldering in the garage.

Wish me luck.🤞🐁🎒

Fingers crossed for you. Do you know what is attracting them? We had mice in the garage when we stored bird food there. When we moved the bird food to the summerhouse we solved the garage problem but the mice moved to the summerhouse too  🫤

We do have bird food in the garage but it is in sealed containers.

I think they come in because it's a sheltered place with lots of things to chew on...like black bin bags.

Mice hate lavender?

I will have to try that we have caught 7 since 2pm today

Thank you, Bookbinder. I don't want to kill them. I just want them to go elsewhere.

You are lucky - I have had rats............ there was a vegetable rack, it is now a plastic box, but the veg. don't keep.

They have dug up behind the boiler and the freezer - it is  warmth for them. It could also cost me thousands if they gnaw through the wiring in the boiler etc..

I've spent nearly £30 so far on rat poison and am terrified in case a rat drags a sachet out and a local dog finds it.  It's a huge problem and I have no rat sympathies at all.

I wish you well in your endeavours, Tilly, but if it's my boiler, freezer and stored, home grown veg. against the rats - then the rats go!

We bought these -   Amazon.co.uk User Recommendationref=sr_1_59?crid=3JHBJLFBYM0NM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.lhnVkpnZeLPSGBVsqTSR_oyQmUe_iPCjmIBBxHcJE0lJCY-QibH0gqRGi4sM7QDNzLXxEWyv_O3xOoI5bA5xI0JHGCALIsMd24h1Uktw1PVBWdxv8HPmh9d7CciM5A10ihzkHrt1w4a_cdigRBDiJsiisTGmRPmKhRscVqQ_u9RGk0Yg2zlZZZp5jnfIevFq12OD95kNcyK-9GWZRrab4DGqcL6Kw75JAWA-duHldiuSZrpzJ7vsfxJTBLHY3Wd4hUq5zxO5I0Gr_jKhj-B3b8K3qULTqICzV1oEOdIciUMiTtIOUl4GgHzoBiWa7PpA-RTjSfiZQdv4I9COBpUnny2g75qtNTva1VYB8G2cpZpWPc1k4liy5eWzi82h-lrGyB0fyxX3Lb7BfMYur3BC07AL58mVmDxQhWit6JY1BVe4_ZpvKhnYYHvduFkIlfDS.BzcKWEZdXuvLjZSCcojSUHn3_huJI3Vms_Nw5Jb1TN0&dib_tag=se&keywords=mouse+traps&qid=1740433008&sprefix=mouse+traps%2Caps%2C138&sr=8-59

Baited with muesli, once trapped put whole thing in a box and released in a field 2 miles way.  Apparently they can come back if they are let go too nearby.

Poison works.  Hate doing it, but it is necessary.
