As ever, I've got a couple ( well, five ) to finish in this laboratory medicine based crossword.

Help with this one clue may get me on my way again.

Factor in faecal movement when a joint-university involvement's held up (8)

?L?U????

I thought joint may be KNEE or ANKLE with U for university and RE - for involvement. But Im drawing a blank in finding any anagrams.

Any help would be appreciated.

"Albumin" is a possibility. It answers the 1st part of the question but I can't explain the rest!!
Hi Eddie
I haven't fared any better than you this month, is 5d haemostasia or something. Thanks for sending it by the way.

Hi joanna

Haemostasis

Any others I can help with ?

I think I'll put this one to one side for a bit to do the weekend papers prize crosswords !

Thanks for the suggestion SCCheshire, but that's only seven letters !
Thought 12d was gametes? Can't get that neuroglia one at all!
I think you're right to give it a rest though, my brain's hurting!
I realised I was a letter short immediately I pressed "submit!" Sorry! Could it still be right with an "S" on the end ie "Albumins."

I've put Gametic for 12d from CITE MAG backwards.

SCCheshire - These clues are always VERY cryptic, but you can normally break the clue down, to explain every part of it, and I just can't see how ALBUMINS fits ? Thanks though !
Just to get let you know what I've got so far - Joanna

I was in a satellite lab today with nothing to do - hence all the postings this afternoon !
PS Did you like my Limerick ?

Well eddie,
I have tried I really have, but those last ones I just can't get.
If I am feeling like punishing myself further i may look at it again, but for now I admit defeat!!! God! that feels awful.
Joanna

The limerick was great btw

Ps if this post goes on more than once I apologize now, the server is playing up
Hi Joanna - yes I've given up now, too.

Maybe next month, eh ?

PS If you post the next limerick I'll have a go at that too ! I do like poetry so perhaps I can help you win some cash !

Ed
Will do Eddie, If you tell me your email address and phone number at work when I post it , I will enter it in your name. They seem to have a variety of winners from all over, so you will stand a better chance than I will.
They may even send you a copy if you win it, here's hoping anyway.
Joanna
Hi Eddie,
Hope you get this, I've got the new lab news so I have photocopied it and will put in post tomorrow.
Good luck.

Hi Joanna,

I've been in another lab all week, so I only got your letter today - and guess what - sitting with it was my very own copy of Lab News ! I did enter one of their on-line competitions a couple of weeks ago, so they must have decided to finally put me on the mailing list. So I can now send my own crossword, sudoku and limerick in.

Here's my first effort at the limerick - I'm assuming it's the Wick in Scotland.

There was an old lady from Wick,
Who was extremely sick,
She whipped up some Scotch Broth,
Blew off the froth,
And drank it all down double-quick !

I've done the crossword too, now it's worth cash again !

Speak to you soon - Eddie

Hi Joanna

I don't know if you do the sudoku - But if you don't I've done it if you want to enter that as well.

Thanks Eddie,
I don't do the Sudoku I leave it for the BMS4 to do, it's the most work he does all month!
I've sent off the limerick and crossword too so good luck to us both. Nice Limerick though Ed.

Hi Joanna,

The actual limerick I ended up sending in was -

There was an old lady from Wick,
Who was extremely sick,
So she took off her dress,
and jumped in Loch Ness,
And funnily - that did the trick !

See you when the MLW arrives - Ed
Good one Eddie, bet that's the winner!

Hi Joanna

Hope you are subscribed to this thread. We still haven't got our copies of MLW this month. I think perhaps our lab is off the mailing list as well, or perhaps they're just publishing late this month ?

Hope your well ( and winning ).

Ed

Hi Eddie,
No, we didn't get ours again this month. Obviously we have been winning too much!!
I'm away on holiday from Monday so I will speak to you sometime after the 10th.
Good luck with October's ........if you get it.
Joanna
