This final week of the eventful reign of Crown Jools proved to be the least predictable of all her chosen links over previous weeks. It is difficult to see why this was so, as I now reveal that the Link Words chosen by Crown Jools were:

Bus SHELTER
STEAM Train
STAGE Coach
PAPER Plane

If you pause and think about it, the minimum total of points that can be awarded in any one week is EIGHT; that is, no single scores and no two-minute-rule bonus points! That is EXACTLY what happened this weekend. It makes my job of scoring all the easier and both "Hot Shot" and "New Champion" were easy to pick out!

Of all those lurking in the shrubbery, only Grenmus struck gold with STEAM TRAIN and scored TWO POINTS. This was the first link word to be predicted! The last one was PAPER PLANE, which was picked up by merched & son as Entrants #36 and after six hours play!

The other two links of BUS SHELTER and STAGE COACH were both picked up by Magyar (at one point our most consistent player) bringing in a handsome haul of FOUR POINTS giving us the clear HOT SHOT of the WEEK.
*** CHEERS ALL ROUND FOR MAGYAR ***

As far as the monthly totals are concerned, for Magyar it was too little too late and only Grenmus was able to sustain the pressure right up to the tape.

The Final League Table for September is:
10 Points: Grenmus & rogerr
7 Points: jan1956
6 Points: Christiana, Magyar, paulineward & ulysses100
5 Points: AllyLally & merched

The rules of succession therefore clearly identify King Grenmus the Great as the September MM Champion who will be responsible for choosing the link words throughout the month of October.
*** BELLS CHIME ***
*** TRUMPETS SOUND ***
*** CROWDS GO WILD ***

If anyone can assist in establishing contact between Magyar and crofter, that would be useful. There will be much to do in preparation before next weeks MM Game. Until then, this is your under-utilised scorer, crofter signing off for another month and looking forward to seeing you all again next week: same time, same place, same inane humour! Sincere thanks to Crown Jools for sharing her thoughts and her memories with us ~ and to gen2 for doing my job better than I could do it myself!

Until then: HAPPY LINKING

:o)
Thank you Crofter & Jools & well done Grenmus and Magyar
Don't you mean you want help establishing a link with grenmus?

Congratulations Gremnus and Magyar
You will have a great time Gemnus, I have had so much fun this month. Thanks to Gen2 and crofter for all their help. This is Crown Jools signing off.
King Grenmus The Great !!
Has a certain ring to it !!

I will endeavour to maintain the excellent high standard of the monarchs who have gone before me.

Now I'll have to get the brain cells working overtime for next weekend.

Thank you crofter for your tireless work on the stats and Crown Jools for choosing this months links that enabled me to win.

Graham

I see we have already been getting a number of variations on "grenmus". In order to pay due homage to the new king, we should at least get his name right.

Just think 'Graham Sumner' in reverse
All hail to the new king Grenmus !

Well done hot-shot, magyar, and thanks to jools for the links ( even though I completely failed to get on your wave length !), and crofter and gen2 for the scores.
Congratulations Grenmus and thanks Jan!
Congats to Grenmus, nice to get a mention in the League table!!!!! Thanks to all.
Many thanks to both Crofter & Jools & well done, in particular, to King Grenmus the Great and Magyar. We look forward to the new challenges to be set in Oct!! Nul points this week for both SHAZZ and self - c'est la vie.
Wow, things really do come in threes. 5 on the lottery, finding out I'd won the Cinnamon Trust quiz and now 'Hot Shot of the Week".

Congratulations to Grenmus, I look forward to testing my little grey cells against your links next week.
Congrats. to King Grenmus the Great and to Magyar (the Magnificent?) as well as Rogerr right up there at the top of the league table. Thanks, too to the tireless Crofter and his able assistant Gen. 2.

Looking forward to once more trying to get into the mindset of a new monarch.
Congratulations to Grenmus on his win and coronation. Good to see that I am in good company, but it seems that I am forever destined to be a bridesmaid !
Until next month's links I will continue to carry the train !

Congratulations all round - Grenmus, Magyar, Jools for her challenging links and of course, crofter and his 'apprentice' gen2 for keeping tabs on everything. I think I managed two points over the 5 weeks - whooppeeeee S
Congratulations to Grenmus.
Thanks to Crofter for doing all that counting on his fingers.
We also thank rogerr for being sporting enough to give the new winner a chance to be king. Rogerr could just have easily said, "Me again!!!!"
If Ulysses100 thinks he/she's always the bridesmaid, we're beginning to think we're the folks who get to sweep up the confetti.
See you all next week and hopefully we might be on Grenmus's wavelength.
