MM Links Solutions August 2008 [Week 5]

This fifth and final week in the reign of Sir Sarumite went smoothly with a reasonable number of points awarded ~ but mainly to those that were early but not reckless. Following a theme of Back to School, I can now reveal the chosen links were:

School DINNER
FIRST Class
Master PLAN
SHORT Term

All four links fell to four consecutive entrants at 09.04am with a reasonable number of extra bonus points going to those following within two minutes.

The first seven entries surprisingly failed to spot a single prediction but at 09.04am gen2 came in as Entrant #8 to claim his SCHOOL DINNER and his associated TWO POINTS. No one else offered this prediction throughout the rest of the game! Presumably all others felt that school dinners were best forgotten!

Entrant #9 was the sharp Dinkypuzzled with a SHORT TERM attempt to pick up another TWO POINTS followed by the international star seekeerz with her usual FIRST CLASS entry and yet another TWO POINTS were gone. However, sparks were about to fly!

At the same recorded time of 09.04am, ex-champion cliffyg entered the fray with his MASTER PLAN and another FIRST CLASS performance was registered to score FOUR POINTS and qualify him as
HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK.
*** Let people rejoice and trumpets sound ***

With all four links having been discovered, it remained to monitor the next two minutes for extra bonuses! They came in the form of Eiggam & Strix with �First Class� and Short Term� respectively within the allotted time to qualify for Two Points each. Mention must be made of bridgenut for two hits, but in three minutes so picks up two single points (rather than four). Single points were scored by devadiva, wickedtongue & Magyar before the game drew to a gentle close.

In spite of my recent attempts to introduce �new blood� to the role of setting the link words, sooner or later there will arise the need to re-appoint a previous MM-Champion. There has been no greater Champion than wickedtongue. He was the first to score a perfect 10 points from the Daily Telegraph and has now set a tremendous monthly total of 15 points in the MM Links Game. The League Table above contains FOUR previous champions and I therefore I propose to invite wickedtongue to accept the challenge once again and set the links throughout the month of September!
