We are now approaching Week 4 in the reign of Baron Brian of Norn Iron. This will be his last week and we all have eyes on several entrants who could win the glory and be permitted to set the MM Links throughout the month of May. Please remember that this game has been on-going for well over two years now and in that time we have had over 25 different champion/setters. Consequently, when choosing the next MM Champion, I am looking for a reasonable compromise between "predictive skills" and "fresh blood".

Hi Pauline, sorry but I've been away from my PC for a while, but back now; and congrats you saw a good game.
Hi twix...it was a brilliant game...unfortunately it doesn't help Crewe...

Reg and I have been going to a lot of Stockport's home games this year...they have been really entertaining...unfortunately they have financial problems.

I just love the atmosphere at the ground...it is like going to a football match before money and players took over!!
The clues for KM are there for all to see - answers at 7am
Pauline, my grandson goes to Dartford's home matches. It has a good atmosphere and when it opened a couple of years ago it came second for new build stadiums, after the Emirates but in front of Wembley as it was built on time and within budget and all the rainwater collected on the roof is filtered and recycled for the WC's. At least the Darts are at home again, having lost their previous ground for housing about 18 years ago and sharing grounds in Kent and Essex in the meantime.
Brilliant twix!..gets it all down to grass roots...so to speak!

Cliffyg..thanks...will be going to bed shortly.
What did you think about the penalty that never was?
Where are the clues for KM - If there is still someone awake.
Hi Ont....I don't think that they will be posted until about 7:00 BST. Not all of us subscribe to the Telegraph online!
Okay Twix. I read your remark that they were there for all to see - I think that's what you said and I thought that Seekeeeze had said something last week about posting the clues. That's what I thought you meant - the clues.
You're up late - or early - are you not?
Ont....Cliffyg posted that the clues were there, not me. I'm always around until about 2.30, don't sleep very well and my body clock seems to run somewhere between Ireland and Newfoundland!
Thanks Twix. I wonder where he saw them as I can't find them on the site.
Between Newfoundland and Ireland is a large area, but I know what you mean about sleepless nights. I usually read for a couple of hours and that does the trick. Have you ever been to Newfoundland?
I wondered where they were too...not that it would make a difference to my guesses! :-))
Yes Ont, I've been a couple of times as we have a friend living in St. John's. We did the usual Eastern Canada tour of Toronto- Montreal-Quebec-Ottawa-Toronto for a week, then on to St. John's for another week. A couple of years later we went straight to St. John's to celebrate our friends 90th birthday. We should really come over again this year to Manitoba, as my only living aunt will be 100 in September, but haven't decided yet whether to or not.
...and I am going to my pit now!
Goodnight all....sleep well...and lucky guessing!
twix...for what it's worth...I think you should go! Life is too short to live with regrets...go and enjoy!!
Good night Pauline. Sleep well.
Twix. We were thinking of going to Newfoundland sometime this summer to get away from the heat. I hear the seafood is marvellous. Would you recommend it as a place for a ten-day stay?
To get the crossword online you have to join the Telegraph Cluedup section at 2.99 per month (or 35 per year if I remember correctly)
Good night Pauline, sleep well and good luck with the links in the morning.
I'm shutting down now Twix. Good night and I hope you get some shuteye.
Ont, yes I would recommend it. The Avalon Peninsular is a bit bleak, Similar to Scotland, which is probably why there are still a lot of Scots or Scottish descendants living there. The Newfies are very friendly people. There is not a great deal to do in St. John's, although I have played golf on some good courses in the area, but the seafood is excellent and there are still some charming settlements around. There is also a French influence to the west coast of the island. If you're there at the right time, icebergs can be seen off the St. John's and the east coast.

Goodnight Ont. I'll go to bed after I try to do a few more clues in Pauline's Dragonfly quiz. Good luck with the links later.
