MM and KM Links October 2009 [Week 1]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!
Last week, the September MM Links contest ended in a dead heat with centrino and Christiana both finishing on 10 points. Any final monthly score into double figures is quite an achievement ~ especially over only four weeks. In accordance with previous practice, the crown was offered to centrino who (I was to learn) was just about to embark on a 15-day trip. In view of this, I decided to promote ex- champion Christiana to the dizzy heights of “Super Nova” as one of the select few, who will set the Link Words for a second time! She has graciously accepted (although muttering something about “flattery”!) [Isn’t he an Irish dancer?]

Tomorrow will be no exception, as Christiana (who has been a regular participant for several years now) divulges at little of her private life on the sunny Algarve. How can anyone miss tomorrow’s revelations?
If all goes according to plan, her introductory launch should open at 8.45am and her four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. If it’s a taste of the sunny life you crave for, then you’ll like meeting up with Steff (aka seekeerz). She hails from Down Under and is our very own “Wizardess of Oz” and she organises the international version of the same game which is called KM Links. Although it kicks off at an earlier hour, there are no penalties for entering your predictions at a later time. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards. Newcomers are always welcome!
Me? I’m crofter and I keep the scores for the MM Links Game. Those who know me will aware that tonight (being the first Friday in the month) is Quiz Night at the local CC. At least tonight I can relax as one of the punters (rather than the Quiz Setter).
Until we meet up tomorrow, may I wish you “Good Luck” and “Happy Linking”!

Jan, being run ragged at the moment so music later - but just to get your feet tapping:

Probably a lot easier than your life, Pauline, as you have much more on your plate than I but you seem to be able to fight amazingly well and succesfully for those nearest and dearest to you, for which I admire you enormously (for G*d's sake don't let bunyip or sarumite read that) but Strix life, if somewhat simpler, is still bl**dy complicated.
Amongst other things that 'riled' me this week, was the morning...think it was Tuesday, that I went into Morrisons...collected my paper and groceries, and made my way to the checkouts. I was in a small queue, and the Lady in front of me looked around, saw my paper with my shopping and picked it up and started reading it!! I asked her what she thought she was doing, and she said just reading this on the front page. I asked her to put it down...and she said ..it's only a paper. I replied, which I am paying for!! ...Unbelievable!
