I was delighted to see that last week’s launch of MM Links went without a hitch, in spite of the fact that “King John” (aka rockfordill) was a links-setter virgin. He freely admitted that he had pretty basic IT skills to call upon, but he sped up the IT learning curve and quickly got into the spirit of things. He has sworn to make tomorrow’s game a little tougher, but he doesn’t realise just how tenacious the Shrubbery Squad are!

As usual, the plan is to open the channel of communication on AB tomorrow at 08.45am and post the four words to be linked at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points! Of course, you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register.

The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz and goes by the name of “seekeerz”. Last week, several entrants scored a full house predicting the four KM Links and I am proud to announce that I (crofter) was among those who scored three out of four hits (for six points). I honestly believe that MM Links are usually more difficult to predict, but many players take part in both games ~ so why not chance your arm at both Link Games? They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.

Until I see you tomorrow, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

:o)

Hi tearinghair....more supplies on their way!

A busy week eh?
I have just started on my first glass...sure it won't be the last!
Bit busy here - cooking supper for the family and (we have a cherry tree which has produced loads of fruit this year which I am trying to keep out of the mouths of all the rooks, jackdaws and blackbirds thieving them) making Cherry Brandy and Cherry Gin. So pop round this winter have a glass or two!!
As to school sports days etc - the real problem is they all seem to break up on such different dates, Miss Strix University term finished in May, son's school term two weeks ago, another friend's child finishes today and another not for another week or two.
Mad and illogical.

That sounds really inconvenient, Strix. You would think that different areas would get together to co-operate, even if individual schools have different staff training days. (I used to have a colleague who called them 'Piffle days', but I do remember a few that were very useful).
The wine certainly helps, Jan!
Pauline, are you fully recovered from your nasty virus now?
I am much better thank you tearinghair...just lacking my usual energy. It seems to have drained me. Can sleep at the drop of a hat!
Have some blood tests done on Monday, so that will tell if I am still a bit under the weather.

Strix...I like the idea of the cherry brandy! Sounds like you are going to be busy.
yes grandchildren break up in 2 weeks
guess I will be looking after them some of the time
went to lytham a few years ago when mine were small and off school
they got a ticking off from a lady in the street for not being at school
I soon set her straight!!!!!
looking forward to the cherry brandy at Christmas strix
I'm sure you did Jan! :-))
bet everyone is watching sky news now
Jan, a friend of my daughter's, after term's end, went shopping in Bristol and was "virtualy" arrested by a council team out looking for kids bunking off from school.
It took a lot of explaining to get them to understand/believe that private schools don't have the same term dates as state schools!
I know some people have jobs to do, but aren't some people just plain nosey parkers too!
it was annoying at the time, my boys were still on school hols this lady stopped them as they were running down the street a little ahead of us I soon caught up with them and put her straight
as you say nothing to do with her
I wonder where the public interest is when people are in genuine need of help.
Yes, Pauline, and this girl would have just laughed off their questioning if they had not been so aggressive and sceptical in their interrogation of her. From memory I think she was only just 16 but I do know she was pretty upset by the whole experience.
