Before buying a Turkey breast Pat , I used to put a whole peeled onion inside the Turkey , it was supposed to get rid of impurities, or so my Mam used to say :0)
They're strange up there in the North!! To me parky is cold weather brrrrrrrrr!!

Ha! It means that too
Hubby puts a whole onion in a chicken before cooking. I refused to put my hand inside an anaemic looking chicken - yet I'm happy eating bloody beef!!
Lottie, I now have an image of you only buying a chicken if it has its own Covid passport :)))))))))))))

I take it you have never drawn a bird then?
Certainly not Choux! We are surrounded by pheasants and partridge here. They are perfectly safe!! I can gut a fish though!
Handling chicken doesn't bother me at all. But the liver makes me a bit queasy...I try not to think about it too much.
It's the white flesh of a chicken with a few bloody bits that really upsets me. And slimey inners!!!!
I'm weird. I don't like handling flour either!!
And nowadays, I can't go in a butchers shop because of the smell!!
pasta, when I clear a poultry carcass for the dogs I am pleased if there is any offal left inside the bird. Nothing is wasted in this house.

Lottie, I remember gutting and filleting a Dover sole I caught when I was (just about) a teenager. Gutting it was fine, but I spent best part of an hour getting the 4 fillets off the bone and there wasn't a vestige of flesh left on the bone ;) Dinner took but minutes to grill!
Always have Yorkshires with any roast we have, chicken, beef etc
I really like most fish Choux. I adore raw pickled herrings. Had some tonight.
Still love that avatar, zylaphone x
Not keen on herrings, I am afraid. I do love to dress a nice fresh crab though, wish I was near Cromer.
