morning Sunday already, where has this week gone. I hope that you are all in good health and that your day is a pleasant one. Do you have plans for today?

I have a weekly call from my friend in NI to look forward to at 10.00am. Apart from that will see how the day pans out.

no birdies this morning, having a lie in no doubt. Can't say as i blame you, i would do the same if i could, but i am awake early these days.
Morning all, the sun is on the rise - stay on out as I will have a laundry to hang on the line...forecast is lightly o-cast. Back in late last night, one more night ot go and then time off - and things should, in theory, settle back what with the end of the August holidays. Otherwise, for the day,it's chores - and there's no Day 4 of the Test Match to listen to. There is a grand prix later from a track I now well, Spa in la Belgique.
spelling there, my 'k' button becoming 'sticky'...

Morning Chip and bye

We won inside 3 days, emmie, an innings and 85 runs, the series now all square and coming your way starting on the 8th. , well, your way, The Oval actually. Ben stokes had a great day with really good bowling of the old ball and nailing two of them - and then with the new ball the quickies blew over the remaining 4 wickets for +/- 30 odd runs.

that's great dtc, good to see them doing well.

very quiet on here this morning, where is everyone.....
In many ways, it came down to the toss at the beginning, the SA captain won it but chose to bat rather than bowl, his logic being that the wicket would crumble for the 4th innings and let the spinners in against England - it turned out to be pretty good conditions for the England speed merchants and we nobbled them on Day 1. Day 2 saw very good centuries for Ben Stokes and his namesake wicky, 'Ben Foakes' both scoring 113 against some pretty hostile bowling. For once, they took their time and gradually built their innings before Stokes cut loose a little - England made 415/9 dec.....
Question Author
did you watch it, or listen on the radio.
Radio for TMS and then watched the highlights on BBC2. I don't have Sky....
Question Author
me neither, its a shame that it's not all on the BBC, where it should be
I agree - but I rather like the radio commentary - it is and has to be more colourful and allows the imagination to wander.
Okay, time for me to go and find that paper and sharpen the brain on the puzzles with the aid of a stiff coffee....have a great day all.

bye dtc, have a grand day,

apart from my decorator having LBC on during the painting, i haven't listened to the radio for an age. I usually have Classic FM playing but now prefer the quiet of the day for some reason.
