HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL FROM DOWN UNDER!
hOPE 2008 Will be better all round for everyone .
I've just been reading your letters and I'm worn out with all this Dancing and singing but I thoroughly enjoyed the party .
You didn't see me ? well I was the one picking you all up as you collapsed from so much exertion! There'll be no work done round here for a while I imagine still you only live once so dancing shoes back on ( and never mind your corns and bunions !)
AULD LANG SYNE MY FRIENDS ! LoVE dOLLY XXXX
well the only stars you'll get from me Vincent are the ones you see when I give you a thwacking. It's hopeless trying to send txts at new year...I turned the volume down on my phone last night 'cos they start filtering through about 3am & interrupt my beauty sleep.

hi Dollydownunder! hope it's a much better year for you...bet it's warm & sunny there, we've got snow forecast in the next day or two.
Hi possums, I think it's raining and snowing at the same time.

Neti that's a terrible thing to happen. It wasn't the same friends who had the fire, was it...

Ha ha Shaney so you were still there, sorry I didn't thank you too for the party but I thought you'd crashed!

Actually kit yes it was the same people! But he's a shifty character and into all sorts of drugs, so it was to be expected, she's had a dreadful 3 weeks culminating in this, which may well bring him to his senses.

Lovely bright sunny day, and am now cooking a roast lunch. Very very quiet here today, had a couple of shandies with Mr N in a local bar and now home for the day and night which I love.
<I knew muggy would be spouting about her weather...puts Ibiza back in Antarctica....>

Are there any lost revellers in your park Kit? and do you still have that erm, 'convenience' outside your window? Did it prove popular...have you been asked to do a survey like those traffic ones you did at school...a WeeWatch? hahahahah....we just have birdwatch here.
no Vinny not those birds...
Ooh have I missed a good party by gadding off out. Maybe just in time for the last slow dance.

would miss you if you weren't here
Yes you should have been here Jude. Oh well maybe when you're 95 you'll slow down and stay at home with us. / Glad you enjoyed your foot session. My half-sisters gave me these reflexology socks a couple of Christmases ago but I never could us'em 'cos they were for Asian feet. (Could have worn them on my ears, come to think of it, there is one kind of acupressure you perform on the ears.)

Oh yes the ugly hut is still there Robinia and they've put a silly jolly lamp on top of it too just to make the whole thing look even more misapplied. And I can't even see anything from here, tut. I'll just have to make do with a little country&western instead...
good evening all and a happy new year... so far it hasn't been going very well as I overslept and have done nothing whatever all day except watch a silent Swedish movie (Kit, it was Erotikon, though not so erotik as it sounds) and now I see it's going to be snowing in a couple of days. Fortunately I have arranged a Caribbean cruise next month if I live that long, and my sister will be coming around the world to join me. So I propose delaying the start of my new year till mid-February and counting all the time till then as part of 2007 for tax purposes.
Morning everyone - oh jno a cruise, look outfor marmoset I suspect that she is cruising now.

Am taking all decs down today as I'm fed up with them. We still have the biggest fiesta to come this weekend, it's the LosReyes, Spanish Christmas, when the 3 Kings bring presents, but not to this house as I can't be bothered now that daughter has grown up and is not here. butron Sat ervening I sahll go down to the village square and watch the Kings arrive and distribute their pressies tahen I shall wander home(passed KFC) as Mr N will be at a Golgf dinner.
Morning, Neti, and all.

What time is it...? ...it's been so dark here all day it's as if the big light bulb in the sky had blown. But I am venturing out into the outside world nonetheless.

It's funny jno I've heard that film mentioned all my life but never bothered to find out about it, I didn't even know it was a silent movie!
Hi folks ..and a Happy New Year ..I am still in 2007 though ..last January actually as I have just had an email from AB telling me I have answer to my crossword question from Jan 2007!!
So I am not quite as old as I thought I was and is proof that we are in living in a Tardis .
It is freezing here ....no snow yet though .. The Caribbean sounds good to me . Don't flash those pins though Jno ..you know what happened last time !
Oh dear just re-read my post - what language is it in?? I really must get a new keyboard and brush up on my spelling.

Overcast here (that'll cheer up old Robi).

Morning Kit. Have taken all christmas thingys down and packed away. Took me 3 hours - bah humbug.

Have just read in the Sunday Mirror that a woman was raped in my village last Saturday, it's really becoming scary here, such an innocent little place it was before!!! But there's not a whisper of it here nor in the Spanish papers! strange!!
harrumph, I have spent half the day trying to build Big Ben (the tower, not the bell) out of Meccano. Why am I doing such a ridiculous thing? Because my sister gave me the kit for Christmas - not this one, 2006, and obviously it's been sitting in the box marked Things To Do Only If Recovering From Brain Surgery And Your Toenails Don't Need Cutting And There's Nothing On Telly. But now she's coming to stay pre-cruise so I thought I'd better look as if I'd at least opened it. I've done about half and concluded it's physically impossible unless you have fingers 15 inches long and a quarter of an inch thick, otherwise how are you supposed to hold nuts and bolts in place inside it while building? So I shall invite her to finish it herself while I get on with my life. Goodness only knows why she got it for me, it's not as if passed our childhood building things with Meccano; in fact if I did any at all I've obviously suppressed the memory. Kids today don't know how lucky they are with Lego, much superior.
oh, this is what it's supposed to look like. Stupid thing.

Gosh considering that we built working models of steam engines (or similar) that looks remarkably simple << tut, youngsters of today - they don't have a clue!>>
A tower, you say? That's very interesting, jno, very interesting. Go on. / Iplayed with BILOfix as well as Lego and I loved both. BILOfix was wooden with plastic nuts and bolts. Danish, like Lego.

That's horrible, Neti. My sister lives in a small place as well and last year a woman was murdered on the same street where sis lives. I read the name of the street and the age of the woman in the paper and they both fit my sister. I was so angry with her for not calling me to say "It's not me" before I read that paper...

Good night all.
oh deep joy, meccano...I always wanted some of that too...

may I be of any help?

still in 2007 shaney?...I'm still in 1977
the north wind doth blow & we shall have snow...well it's a south-westerly actually but it's bloomin freezing!
Yes, jno that's the sort of thing we used to make!!!!
all dates from the days when the British were great engineers, I expect. Here's some surprising info (from the book on Tingo): In Greek, the word mangla means well made and upmarket - it comes from 'made in England'. And jampa means cheap and badly made - from 'made in Japan'.

Now which shall I buy, a Lexus or a Reliant Robin?
