Knowing we are probably under threat from terrorists, does this determine where you go i.e where you shop, which film you would go to watch? I'm a bit of a coward really and haven't shopped in Manchester City Centre since the atrocities there. I would also avoid places like the Trafford Centre in Manchester and any cinema showing films that might lead to a bomb being left under a seat. What about you? I suspect a lot of people would think, 'Nobody determines what I do or where I go', or are you like me, and prefer not to take the chance.x
I wouldn't change my plans for anybody, ever, but then ,I have never shopped in malls or any busy centres even before all this scum started their nonsense.
im surprised you found room in there Snaggles, along with coats, a fridge freezer, various (usually broken) power tools and shoes. In fact if you come across Mini Boo's Santa hat can you pass it to me?
OH was living in Central London years ago, when the IRA were having a go at it, she says most peoples attitude was, ' you don't know if you're walking towards a bomb or away from one ' so just get on with it!
I was within hearing of two IRA bombs in one night, one in the City while I was working, one around Brent Cross after I'd gone home. I couldn't believe I was within a mile or so of both of them. And I couldn't go and hide in B00's cupboard because it was already occupied. So everyone just got on with their lives. So go on, go shopping.
You never know where a terrorist may target, so I don't believe avoiding areas that have had a terrorist attack will decrease your chances of being caught up in something. They will exploit vulnerabilities and often targeted areas become more vigilant and this can deter repeat attacks.
They want to cause fear and disruption long after the attack and if an area becomes synonymous with a terrorist attack and therefore people avoid that place, they have in effect won.
According to the below we are low risk, but if you're still worried, the Antipodes or Iceland look like a safe bet... the latter also doing really nice Prawn Rings and Cheescakes...
We`re not low risk. The UK threat level is Severe (Critical is the highest which means an attack is imminent) I`m not going to live my life any differently though.
We are at Man Airport this Saturday awaiting a flight out, I will be observant but it will not effect the way I go about my life, the scum are around & I'm sure the Muslim Population can assist in the destruction of this Sewer lower than life vermin.
I lost part of my hearing in an IRA "come on" bomb in a square in Notting Hill. The original car bomb killed an eminent and skilled surgeon who was walking his dog and noticed a suspicious package under the car of a resident who was a govt minister for whom the bomb was intended. Loads of Londoners went about their normal business and never gave the bombs a thought. As for me I never heard any future security alerts so life went on as normal for me to. If you stay in. They win!
