Anyone any experience of Ikea chairs? We’re looking at reclining armchairs for around £250, which might be a bit cheap.

Any experiences?

which particular ones? My experience with ikea is that some things are great and some are rubbish

This one.

Agreed, sometimes the cheaper end is tatty, but this seems solid.
can u get to ikea? The reason i ask is that with your particular disability, you might find the effort required to make it recline or keep it reclined is too much (i often find i cant do manual ones)

It looks like it should be in an old persons home,
Oh hang on a minute ;o)

How kind, baldric.
Question Author
Yes, bednobs, we have a local one. If I can’t get there, Mrs B can.

BB, baldric has one of those .

I would not give something like that houseroom, it's ugly tbh.
^ You would if you needed it. You wouldn't have much choice.

237, I would have something with a more up to date look and a powered recline mechanism.
and an ensuite with hot and cold running women, but bainbrig doesn't say he's looking for one like that.
My Partner was lucky enough to be gifted an electric recliner. The manual one we had previously had very sudden movement i.e. locked or free which was a bit disconcerting. Have you checked local papers, free sites, charities, etc for second hand electric recliners?
if you are getting a couple of them, i'd deffo recommend going and trying, If cost i an issue, look on local FB selling groups. I got my powered leather incliner chair on ebay for £12.50!
Question Author
No, cost is no issue.

Currently we have two v big leather jobs, cable-operated recliners. But since we got old and feeble, we can’t move them! So we can’t clean behind them, or do anything which requires moving them,

Hence the updating, preferably to lighter chaurs which are easier for two elderly folk to shift.

Baldric. You probably won’t ever get old and ill, and even if you do get old you’ll still be as fit as a butcher’s dog. Keep telling yourself that, old mate.

B

BB, hopefully you are right, but in the meantime I will do everything in my power to make sure I don't, I'm 67 atm.
OK Bainbrig, if moving furniture is the problem, then maybe something like this may help. Sore similar for sale on QVC I think many years ago, looked impressive, as most shopping channel demonstrations do.

Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
If the chairs you have are suitable, i have an idea - lower your standards and don't clean behind them!
or get a young and bendy cleaner
Bb, I think the chair looks nice. Look on Argos amazon for comparisons ,
