I hardly ever "shop", I buy everything on line and a nice man from Poland brings it in a van.

Big C and Makro

I get most of my groceries and household goods delivered by Tesco but I buy all my meat from the butcher and fruit and veg from the greengrocers.

I am frustrated that there is no local fishmonger so have to go to Morrison's for their fish counter.   I am worried about my greengrocer as Aldi has got permission to open a supermarket in our local, very small 'village'.

I actually shop all over the place. It really depends what groceries etc we need. For normal everyday things I use Sainbury because it is the nearest. But I will use Lidl or Aldi and Farmfood for speciality food or latest bargains. For fish I go to Morrisons. All are in close proximity with car parks so am spoilt for choice. I have a Tesco about 1/2 mile up the road also.

Mainly Tesco, sometimes Sainsbury's, local fish shop, deli,
local farm shop.

Mostly Sainsbury’s online, but I top up at Lidl/Aldi and sometimes M and S.

Well I work for Morrisons, so I'll stay loyal.☺

Should add...I've got a voucher for Waitrose so will try them soon. Their prices are said to be coming down.

Sainsbury's deliveries for most groceries.

A local shop for milk and bread.

Most of our big shops come from Tesco or Aldi.  If I go shopping, it tends to be Tescos that I use simply because it is the first thing I come to and is rather conveniently on the outskirts of town whereas Sainsburys or M&S require a trip into town, the one way system and the worst designed car park in Europe - Aldi is slightly less inconvenient.  I do like Morrisons, but that is quite a bit further away and on the three occasions I have had them deliver, they have mucked it up.

I buy most of our meat from the local butchers or direct from the farmer - although at present since Mr BM does not have much appetite, I am buying more ready meals since it is a waste of time me spending hours cooking for him to eat two mouthfuls.

Aldi - been shopping there for years. The stores have (amost) everything I need & are not overwhelmingly huge like the local Tesco/Asda/Morrisons. Access & Parking is great & self or assistant check out is always rapid.

Looking at the options I assume you mean shop for food? Tesco then although OH does it (weekly). Of the big names simply because it's the only one that isn't a minimum of 30 minute's drive away.

//not overwhelmingly huge like the local Tesco/Asda/Morrisons. //

Not for me, its about 15' by 7' and fits nicely on my front driveway.😁

Tesco's mainly for two shops a month at around £200, but just done the monthly ASDA for £329.  So horses for courses.

Never go in Lidl or Aldi, neither deliver and Aldi customer service is appualling.

//Well I work for Morrisons, so I'll stay loyal.//

So would I if I got staff discount!

// Aldi customer service is appualling. //

The one I use - the staff are friendly, efficient & helpful.

It's the tills davebro.

They wont open them and the girls on them are as rude as you could get. Saw one poor bloke get berated becsaue he was taking too long.  Lady behind helped him while the rude till girl tutted and glared.

Awful shop.

dunno where you live - is it a generally unfriendly place?

Aldi staff are mostly young - they are kept on the go working the tills and servicing the store but get paid more for it. (Morrisons is like an old people's home at afternoon nap time!)

Co-op

Shame on you, omitting it from the list. Too "lower class" for the snooty AbTowers I suppose.

My butler has just enquired of the cook.  (I've never spoken to her myself, of course).  Apparently she says that we get most things from Fortnum and Mason, with Harrod's Food Hall usually managing to fill in any gaps in our household requirements.

I obviously don't do any main food shopping myself but I do admit to buying some rather tasty biscuits whenever I visit Harvey Nics:

In the veggie airport
They are arriving every day.

Supermarkets the intermediary
Then departing in your trolley
Comig to you from far away.

Those brightly-coloured vegetables
Have sat around for days
In what we’re told are
such unhygienic storage bays.
They’re obviously packed by well paid slaves and elves!
and magically appear on your supermarket shelves.

Here every carrot is straight and, huh, said to be clean
And every lettuce crisply shocked and curled
Then gassed in plastic packets
That are filling up our little world!

Take a glance inside your shopping-trolley
And if what I say is true
Then I guarantee the food within
Has seen a lot more of the world than you.

Like the picture on the packet
Of your frozen ready meal
The colour of this far-flown food is supposedly great
The taste experience, surreal, unreal.

Those ripe tomatoes in their reddest skins
We should dye brown, to match their taste
Those vivid orange carrots are a mystery of flavour-
What a waste!

A plate of vibrant promising hue
Can taste of packaging, too much salt and glue.

The supermarket tells you you’re wrapped in clover
But its goods have all the texture of an old pullover.
Your supermarket says that it is catering for you
But if you’re honest do you really think that’s true?
If you don’t then there is something you can do.

At the supermarket veggie airport
All the profit’s in departures
So put that ruddy trolley back
And just depart.
If you're wanting to be vocal
Then shop seasonal and local
And hit these veggie airports right in their heart.
