When I was a kid my mum used to to buy brown bread for my dad, we were never offered it, and for years I thought that only men could eat it. Did anybody else believe something stupid when they were a child?
to stop me touching electric plugs and cables - my mum told me that snakes lived in the cables so not to touch or they would bite me - I believed that load of crap till I was at least 9 or 10 !
When you flushed the outside toilet, monsters would be released, so you had to run indoors as quickly as you could. You made sure that your knickers were pulled up before you flushed or you would never make it.
i used to think the prime minister could only be a woman. I also used to think if you walked through a cemetary you had to be careful because "its where they bury people" i used to think "they" would jump out frfom behind tombstones and literally bury you if you wernt careful

Myself and my sister used to think that broccoli was actually called 'baby tree' and used to make little forests out of it on our dinner plates. :o)
I was told to eat up my bread crusts if I wanted curly hair......I`m still waiting 60 odd years later! Mind you, I tell the grandchildren to eat their fish to make them brainy so I`m not blameless myself.
