why are so many big issue sellers in the south scottish?

It's probable that you notice their Scottishness solely because of the easily-identifiable accent. Would you recognise a Leicestershire accent, say, as easily? These guys come from all over and I'm sure there is no greater proportion of Scotsmen than there is of Brummies, for example.

i live in brighton,and before that london. seriously i would guess that three quarters of the sellers are scottish. just cant work out why. it bugs me because i am scottish.

Surely the question should be: "Does the Big Issue supply the dog as a sales aid, or is it a job requirement?"

actually i dont think ive seen scottish ones with dogs, just the english. the scottish ones have their drunkeness and drugs to keep them happy. but back to the question. why are they all scottish. are there a load of english big issue sellers in scotland? an exchange programe?
