I live in Brighton.

The whole town is full of loonies.

Sorry, I mean "eccentrics".
My first wife was a bit weird. She never lost her place in a book, because she tore out each page as she read it.

There used to be a chap in the town where I went to school who walked round wearing a suit, shirt, tie, suspenders on his socks and smart shoes but no trousers! Never did find out why.

And another chap who lived in my village who came to the door once carring a fridge on his back looking for someone to buy it, he was also rather partial to oxo made with milk appaently.
there is a guy in his 50's who dresses as a business woman and walks up and down the high street 3 times every few days, I wish he wouldnt wear a mini skirt. :/
The same chap also used to drive a Morris 1300 while leaning on the handbrake and wear a hairnet!
I know a guy who sprays his bald patch with a colour spray that has a fuzzy texture, though that may not be deemed eccentric, more delusional.
I worked for an old boy who made props for shows, he was wonderfully clever, eccentric, but i thought the world of him and his wife.

Crazy Cat Ladies ......................
i think there are many women eccentrics, Lucinda Lambton for one, Tracy Emin, though i can't bear the woman i would consider another.

There was another strange lady in the same village above who had unkempt hair down to her waist a cigarette always hanging out of the side of her mouth and would swing her handbag wildly as she approached you on the pavement. Seems to have been quite a cluster of eccentrics in Somerset.

cazzz1975, whch high street does the man in his 50s appear on?
There was a chap who lived in my village and rode around on his bicycle every day. When he met an adult he dismounted, saluted, and then remounted. He treated children slightly different, he still saluted but carried on riding. One day about ten of us lined up in a row and he started to salute each of us individually, by the time he got to the fifth child he started to wobble and before he reached the end of the line, he fell off. After that he just shouted obscenities at children.

i think a lot of whats been descibed here are people who are actually somewhat unwell, rather than eccentric

they are two very different things

why must people assume that someone who decides to do thing their own way and not conform, is nuts?
