Just read some comments from Donald Trump to the effect that everyone in Scotland loves "Trump International Golf Links" up in Aberdeen. Is that the case? Are most people broadly supportive of his business plans in Scotland?

I may be shallow but the wig alone would put me off the guy. I have nothing against men who wish to wear wigs or who are bald. But to have as much money as him and still go for the cheap and tacky wig says much about him.

I have no time for the man. The only good that may come of it because he is so rich and, therefore, powerful is that his links will not be blighted by infernal wind farms and leave at least one piece of the country its natural beauty. As for his business plans I think they will all revolve round him. I do not see him creating employment/wealth to any great degree.
I watched the recent programme on ITV where he insulted the man who would not sell his land to him. I thought that this was disgusting. Just because the man lived a different lifestyle to Donald Trump does not, in my book, make him a lesser man.

He does come across as a blustering blowhard. There is a documentary about him? I will have to look it out on the internet. Thanks for the input :)
I don't live in Scotland (but did) and everything I have read about the Scottish attitude to the Trump proposal is that everyone thinks it's a dreadful idea!
A lot of people would prefer to see the site left to nature. Imo, it's a bit too far north for a viable top golf course.
The man is delusional if he thinks that Scotland loves Trump International anything, other than of course those who had their hand out for a big Trump pay off.

As a Scot I have not met anyone who thinks it is anything more than a Trump ego trip. As for it being his Scottish family heritage that has driven this particular desire of his...BO!!OX

My worry is this:

If the Scots vote for independence will we in England ever see the likes of Oor Wullie and The Broons again?
And would they allow exports of Irn Bru? I fear they won't.
If we win independence you can keep my brother - he has spent so long living south of the border that he has been breeding English hybrid children.

:-)

I think that Donald Trump is a Snag but he is rich and gets away with it.
Snag is not what I put - I put tawt reversed.
I am happy to concede Irn Bru (the Scotsman's Tizer), but would sadly miss the goings on at No 10 Glebe Street.
I know when he was thinking of building it in Cruden Bay they hated him
He is just a rich bully boy who thinks if he throws enough money at a situation he will get what he wants. Unfortunately sometimes this tactic work.

Plautus I'm sure for a fee we could do a deal ;-)
*works!
Hoots mon, there's a moose, loose &c.
