What Are Your Priorities In Life?
27 Answers
My wife and I now try to make sure we enjoy every day to the full, it is our number one priority. We are now in our fifties, we still work but the kids have left home now I feel it is our turn as we have done our bit. We like to go out every weekend, or go away for the weekend and let our hair down and have some fun. We have seen too many of our age group keeling over for one reason or another and have decided that life is too short to worry about trivial matters. Some say we may be irresponsible but what does it matter as long as you're not hurting anyone else? You never know what's around the corner. We see so many our age just drifting into old age concentrating on things that don't really matter. The reason I mention it is something someone said to my wife the other day "wouldn't you be better spending money on your garden than going out all the time?" I thought why dont you just go get a life, the cheek of it! What do others think? By the way the garden is ok, just a bit tired!

Seriously, do exactly as you are doing - as you say, you don't know when it will have to stop, so make the most of it.

I would spend money on my home and garden because I don't like going out that much except on holiday. I love to finish work in the summer get home sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine,or plonk down in the conservatory in the winter where we have a lovely log burner. I also spend a lot on my horses as they are my only hobby. My main priority is putting enough money aside for old age, as boring as that sounds we need a lot of money to carry on the lifestyle we have so that's our main priority, dull but there you go.
I'd leave the garden to a gardener, give him a few hours work, keep going on weekends away, or just forget the garden, lifes too short, create memories not gardens that will become wastelands when your days are up. MY friend loved her garden, she died last year, I look over at her empty house and the weeds crawling up the for sale sign.. what good is it after all. I seen a post earlier in news about the Elton John and handbags at dawn with D&G and your post reminds me of one of his songs 'Empty Garden, Hey Hey Johnny' I think the name, make memories, take pics and love every minute.
