Catholic Funeral

I've just got back from a requiem mass and I'm 'king knackered. With all the standing up and sitting down, responding and chanting, bells ringing, incense wafting, etc. I'm going for a lie down :-)

I went to a catholic funeral with no mass
It was one of the most joyless experiences of my life
Say what you want about us Catholics we know how to do things properly

anyway..I am sure the dear departed is up there , shoes kicked off feet up with a drink watching what everyone is saying about them.....that's my plan ..so you lot..be nice about me when the time comes..I'll be perched observing...lol

Last RC funeral I attended I had to lead prayers.......the atheist leading the confused....x

Not familiar with Catholic funerals, Melv. I grew up in Cornwall, and I have to say there is nothing more grim than a Cornish funeral.

If I have to listen to Abide With Me one more time ............. I'm slitting my wrists ;o)

The C of E introduced this handshake nonsense about 40 years ago but quite a few churches have dropped it after protests.

Although .......... except for the Irish, I don't think anyone enjoys a funeral more than a Devon farmer. Around here, it's a popular pastime.

It's not uncommon for the old guys to wander around with a well stacked plate of sandwiches asking "anyone know who's funeral this is?"
