Oh did you manipulate the picture how clever of you!
No. I'm not that clever.

klavadir; //I notice that you addressed that remark to me Khandro and not to Jack//

I've no idea what gender you are, nor do I care which is borne out by the fact that I haven't bothered to look, your monika gives no clue (neither does 'Jackdaw' for that matter, those wonderful birds come in both sexes)
Woofgang, as you say, there is no Sharia law in the UK, but there are most certainly Sharia courts – and many people, in particular subjugated females who are forbidden by their menfolk from appealing to British law, have no option but to be bound by them. I don’t think you realise the influence that Islam has on those less Westernised. Church councils cannot be compared to Sharia courts...

….…and Islay, Islam cannot be compared to any other religion.
You only have to click on my profile, Khandro.
Yes it can Naomi!
It sickens me that when a muslim commits a crime people put all muslims in the 'evil' bracket, but when a catholic commits a crime you don't hate all catholics or when a white man commits a crime, you don't avoid all white men!
Its sickening and bigoted!
Islay, this isn't about you being sickened or about bigots or your perception of people as bigots. It's about Islam, and Islam cannot be compared to any other religion, for one reason because it isn't simply a religion - it's a whole way of life.
I think that my point may be being missed here.
What PRECISELY are you going to ban and how will you define it?
How will that ban change anything?
woofgang, who are you talking to?
anyone who cares to answer who has agreed to a ban on sharia committees
Right, thanks. Time allowing, I'll probably add my thoughts later.
Do you agree that Islam is misogynistic, Islay?
YES, YES, YES.

You only have to walk through some Burroughs in London, and you would think you were in the Middle East.
Brick Lane is a place to steer clear of, if your not a Muslim, also most parts of Luton, Croydon & Mile End Road.

I sympathise with Women who have to walk to and fro in these place, as they tend to get verbally insulted for their choice of dress etc, as it dosent come within the Muslim dress code.

Unfortunately, it will only get worse, and so pleased I dont live anywhere near there anymore.

.
Regarding that photo with the pram in it- I just thought id point out that it's the back of the pram you're all seeing, not the front.
NJ post bears out what i was saying about Sharia law, courts, councils call them what you will. They are like a lot things dobbed on women who have no choice but to accept the status quo.

Allen, //The last time we heard the idiotic suggestion that parts of London were "no-go" areas, it turned out that there were some streets that a woman wouldn't walk down alone at 3 a.m.//

That's not true. You're allowing your imagination to run away with you again, The suggestion was that women would be reluctant to walk in some areas especially after dark. The ‘3am’ came from you. Do stop yapping and try instead to conduct a sensible conversation.
BOO. It's an orange plastic shopping bag :-) ( on the back of the buggy ) . LOL
It is Anne, hung on both handles so as to keep whatever is inside it level, I've seen people of all religions and races do that, not really sure why that picture was even posted.
Ridiculous claim in the OP. I like how some people have split the question up into two sections rather than answer the entirety of the original question.
