Hi everyone,
I am interested in the background of the leader of Windsor Council, Simon Dudley, who has caused a furore with his remarks that homeless people should be removed from the streets of Windsor so that guests and tourists attending the royal wedding should not be upset or offended.

Can anyone tell me something of Simon Dudley's history? I found on the internet that he attended the University of East Anglia, but can find no further biographical details.

Can anyone enlighten me please? TIA

Wow, I'm impressed, he does all that and leads Windsor Council while a permanent resident in the US of A.
What a Guy!
Oops, sorry, wrong Dudley
He's on Twitter, ask him - though he may be quite busy at the moment.
I was once asked, by 2 American backpackers, on a train from Paddington, why Diana was called Princess of Wales, and they seemed satisfied when I told them that it was because she had gone to Merthyr Tydfil Comprehensive.
mikey ^^^ LOL.

I agree with this Dudley fellow, we don't need vagrants spoiling the scene of a Royal wedding.
Move them somewhere else and they will still be homeless, so what is the problem?
The can be homeless somewhere else.
i don't think he meant get rid of them permanently, but try and find shelters and accommodation for them, after all they must have crises houses even in Windsor.
Sqad....I remember that train journey very well. Later on we got talking about America's gun laws and both girls, who came from Texas, told me that they had been given Kalashnikovs for their 16th birthdays.

When I asked why did they need these weapons, they both looked at me askance....." Well, to shoot with, of course !"

I have an even better idea. Why don't we do everything to help the homeless, no matter what Borough they live in, 52 weeks of the year ?

It ruddy freezing out there and its even worse at night....I think that that the fact that we have so many people living on our streets in 2018 is an utter disgrace, here in a civilised, wealthy nation.
Some debate going on about how homeless they are, some are coming in to do their begging shift then getting a taxi home. It certainly happens in other places, a friend saw her next door neighbour looking down and out in a town twenty miles away.
Hope you find the school Chanel.
Zebo....there is no hard evidence that that is happening. But there are people living on the streets....that much is obvious.
mikey..."you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink" comes to mind........I don't know why they are homeless, but probably because they do not conform to "society."
That is fine...their choice, but it comes at a price.
zebo sadly it does go on, but as mikey says in this day and age why do we have rough sleepers.. surely councils could pull out all the stops and get accommodation for those on the streets, of course some don't want a hostel, but as i said crises centres should be opened for those who want help.
Seem to remember a documentary where reporter went under cover as a homeless person and made more money in a day that he normally did in a week.
Windsor has a disproportionate number of street vagrants as it is perceived as wealthy and has a high level of tourists.

Quite a number of these 'homeless ' folk travel in from nearby locations.
If they wouldn't clear the streets of rough sleepers for anyone one elses wedding they should not do it for these two....they are no more or less important than the rest of the population.
Sorry Chanel, had another look and can't find the information you're after, only his current dealings.

His appointment wasn't a popular one with many.
Mally, the idea of clearing the streets is not for the benefit of Harry & Meghan, it is to give the tourists, who will flock in, a better impression of London.
What I found quite amusing was when the Daily Wail covered these story they showed about 10 pictures of the homeless on the streets the problem was about 8 of then was of the same guy!
