This is just the problem, Jim. A third option might be needed. Transmen are no threat because they are women- but they are far more convincing than trans-women and still likely to make other women feel unsafe and uncomfortable.

Yes pixie.. It's like depression, it's just a stage in your life, your emotions and thoughts will evolve out of that moment.. But apparently for wanting to be a different gender, no questions and injection with hormone no matter what age! I think it's barmey.. You should not be able to transition before you're fully developed in my opinion. Statistics regarding suicide after "full transition" should support this ideology.

No one said they are doing that thought, Naomi. The only problem is people who take offence to sharing a bathroom with them. In reality, you've never been in a toilet with a male now female and if you have i'm sure they've not preyd on you. The statistics on pre- and post-op suicide rates are confusing at best. As far as I'm aware it depends on whether the person you ask is supportive of, or suspicious of, transpeople as to the answer they give you.

Probably better to agree that:

(a) an operation on its own fixes little;
(b) that's more about the lack of post-operative support than the fact of the operation itself.

Well, quite. Still, it's only transwomen that seem to get anybody in a huff. It seems that going from male to female is a great way to upset people on both sides, whereas the debate almost never even considers people moving in the other direction. Who knows what conclusion to draw from that?

It's because women are more vulnerable anyway and fought for decades to be entitled to safe spaces and to compete in sports etc.

I don't honestly know, Jim. Do men feel threatened if they are alone in a close space with a woman? You tell me... I wouldn't really know.

Two, no it actually affects men also, for example women transitioning into men. You may be to ignorant to realise that some men may be threatened by that also, but the thing is, they're not making a scene about it.. They're letting people live their life.

0.01% of men who transition to women would do it out of unjustified reasons. Full transition also, meaning you know.. No penis? How is that an issue for you in a toilet? Womens toilets are cubicles anyhow. Fuss over nothing.

As I understand it that is biologically unhelpful. Again as I understand it, physical transition is more successful and complete if its begun before physical puberty. Its why children with this problem may be given hormone treatment to delay puberty so that they can have more time to work through the issues and make a decision that is more likely to be the correct one for them.
