Having been labelled on here as a racist, I would deny that claim most fervently for a variety of reasons, although I can easily see how somebody may come to that conclusion.
Racism, in whatever form it takes, needs to be called out, as it is am evil that denies our fellow man the very dignity that we ourselves demand and expect.
Most incidents of racism are directed by whites towards non whites, and therefore gain the headlines and the popular appreciation of the whole subject.
But I declare that racism is a two way street, and that racism in many forms is directed not only towards individual white people or groups of white people, but towards the very institutions and traditions that are part of our accepted way of life, and that such reverse racism, is equally dangerous and also needs to be confronted vigorously whenever it appears under whatever current guise it has adapted.

Why is a black person getting a job "reverse racism". Is it the slightest bit possible, that they were actually the best person for the job?
For as long as phrases like "tick boxes" and "positive discrimination" exist.... the more you can see why it is needed.
And honestly... when I joined AB, I was totally against "positive discrimination". I, naively believed it would soon even out naturally. It was AB itself that showed me it wouldn't.

When the white candidates application is binned, that is wrong. Many examples of this.
Previously.... and even nowadays, there are more examples of the "non-white" name being binned.
Again, though... how do you propose changing this, considering nobody has bothered in the last few centuries?

Because someone non-white gets a job presenting, without so much as giving them an opportunity, you immediately assume it was due to "positive discrimination" rather than them being the best candidate for the job.

I'm not slathering at the mouth at all. I'm pointing out that you've made the assumption that the non-white presenter has gained an unfair advantage in order to get the job. You have no idea whether it was an equal opportunity or not, it's just that the first thing you think of is that they must be there to fill a PC quota.
Theland, "all" candidates don't and never have had "equal opportunity".
Once more, how would you achieve that?

Look at the percentages of ethnic minorities presenting on TV and compare it to the percentage in the general population.
The ethnic minorities have the advantage, and this is also reflected in dramas, advertisements, and now rewriting British history.
What is the percentage if ethnic minorities on TV, theland? And in the general population?
Are you sure you aren't just noticing them more?
Finally!
A large majority of television faces, especially in presenting roles, are still white from what I see. How many of the black faces you see make you think "You're absolutely useless at your job", because of they don't, their job proficiency surely justifies the selection process.
