Driving home today I was listening to Jeremy Vine interviewing A J West about his new book, 'The Spirit Engineer', which examines, among other things, the reality or otherwise of the spirit world and the trickery used by charlatans to convince people that they are actually contacting the dearly departed. Mr West threw out a couple of 'cold' readings and asked listeners to phone in if they thought anything he said referred to them personally. I arrived home before anyone called so I've no idea of the outcome. Interesting nonetheless.

So … have you ever been tricked by a trickster - and when did you realise you had?

We all know that, apg. Is that even in doubt on here? Why can nobody prove anything... if, even one is right?
And, as naomi says, it's for "entertainment purposes".
You are making a bold statement that psychics don't exist - without any proof one way or another. You have proof some are charlatans -to which everyone agrees. You have no proof some may be genuine.

Anyway carry on punching yourself in an empty room. Those of us that have experienced such things have no need to prove anything.
No, nobody needs to prove anything. And, just like religion, if it actually exists- someone somewhere, will prove it.
I personally know several genuine psychics.. Their abilities are unquestionable.. And have been called upon to assist police in murder investigations.. Successfully.. They don't pedal their talents or gain financially from their gifts.. But have proved their worth and authenticity many many times.. Just because a person does not believe does not make them correct in their declarations..
Yes, goes both ways x
The proof is in the pudding and my psychic friends have proved themselves in high profile murder investigations.. Their information led detectives to burial sites and lines of forensics that convicted murderers.. Without their involvement it may never have been so
Minty, I fully get and respect that you believe it. I just don't.
I don't believe it.. I know and have experience of it
I spent YEARS looking for a genuine psychic.
(Decades actually)...
Ouija boards, Seancis, the lot. Stayed the night in so called haunted bedrooms ets...nothing!!!

Disappointed...
I want my money back...
Lol you need to come out on location with my team nailit
Those that believe, believe. Those that don’t, don’t.
No point arguing about it, or even discussing it to be honest, no one is going to change their minds are they?
I'm sure there are a lot of frauds out there.
There's a few out there that seem to tap into 'whatever' and come up with personal information that no one else could possibly know. This was last one I went to, my second), she was spot on.
Yet my sister who's always been a bit of a sceptic, said the same Psychic, who I'd seen, was 95 % wrong with her reading..

For those who’ve experienced things for which there is no known explanation it’s not ‘belief’. They ‘know’ what they experienced. ‘Belief’ doesn’t come into it.
this truncated ( cut off to you and me) headline
Have you ever been tricked by someone....

I think - yes Boris Jay....

oh well
Naomi, many murderers have experienced god telling them to kill someone. Just saying. :-)
Interesting someone asking for their money back, my experiences have never cost me a penny.
I suppose that by post 200 things get a bit frayed. For those who’ve experienced things for which there is no known explanation it’s not ‘belief’.

belief. 1. an acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof.

APG "You are making a bold statement that psychics don't exist - without any proof one way or another."

What evidence is there of psychic abilities under controlled test conditions?
