2nd link hits a paywall.
3rd link - Ah yes, Sally Chatterton (cheif editor), who previously wrote for The Daily Telegraph. Nuff said.
4th link - a single nut case attacking one person does not prove your point.
Nice try tho!

Okay, I have no doubt some (but not many) "lefties" hate their country. But there are enough right-wingers who are intent on damaging our society that it probably balances out. We, right and left, just think different means should be used to achieve our version of society.
I am what you would probably call a leftie, I prefer to think of myself as a social democrat (not a lib dem, definitely not). So I want everyone (with a few exceptions) to be fairly rewarded for their efforts. I think the most successful societies are those that are fairer, more equal. So an education systems that offers opportunities, a decent health service, good social support mechanism ("a safety net" for the less fortunate), redistribution of inherited wealth.
Difficult to tell who the ‘Lefties’ are really?
I mean, why would someone with ambitions to become Prime Minister slate British workers? Hardly patriotic, is it?
Why would Tory donors and hedge fund managers bet against the Pound, making a fortune out of financial chaos brought about by the Tory Government? What sort of patriot does that to the British economy?
The present Business Secretary moved funds from his business to Ireland just prior to Brexit. You’d have thought a wealthy patriot would have kept his business in the UK, surely?
It’s shocking really that those who claim to be patriots actually have very little regard for this country, the workers in it, nor its economy.
Yet they’re still trying to destroy it and are determined to trash its reputation?
Lefties, the lot of ‘em.

drmorgans; "...redistribution of inherited wealth. " - ah the cloak comes off. The problem that the socialist mind fails to grasp is that by stifling endeavour there is much less effort to create wealth. We are all then poorer. We must accept that some will always do better than others, the world is not fair, some people just are not on the pace. All attempts at socialism fail because they are fundamentally against human nature.
Drmorgans, //an education systems that offers opportunities//
You've got that. Comprehensive schools and university available to all - even if they are going for a degree in the antics of Mickey Mouse.
//good social support mechanism ("a safety net" for the less fortunate),//
You've got that, not perfect, granted, but this is one of the most caring societies in the world.
//redistribution of inherited wealth//
Who's inheriting whatever you leave when you die? The State - for redistribution?

paigntonian: "If you think that Michael Foot, Tony Benn, Clem Attlee or Gordon Brown 'hated their country' you're certifiably mad. Patriots all. " - Oddly enough Atlee is my 3rd favourite PM behind only TGM and TGL. I don't think they "hated" their country. My post is more aimed at the continual knockers. Perhaps "hate" is the wrong word. See my post at 10:09 for those I'm talking about,
