Old People
100 Answers
Why do old people always, always pay with handfuls of loose change when they get to the head of the queue in supermarkets?
It takes them ages to count it out, what with their shaking hands and poor eyesight.
And their inane banter about the price of eggs and how cold it is today slows things further still...
Honestly, can't they pay with a note and speed things up, or should we have a dedicated aisle in supermarkets for old people?

Plenty of us have lonely old relatives that we say we will go and visit but dont do it often enough. One day you may have poor eyesight and shaking hands and no one else to talk to other than the checkout girl, but no doubt you will be a mean old man and she wont even enjoy your chit chat, as you will be moaning about the youth of today by that point. Is your time really that stretched that you cant wait a few extra minutes without getting impatient with someone paying for their food with the right money, maybe if you spent 10 less minutes a week on here, this wouldnt be such a problem for you.
i think you should have more consideration for old people, have you ever thought that the inane banter as you put it, might be the only conversation they ever, there are a lot of lonely old people out there, they are known as the invisble people, i've seen shopkeeper ignore them and serve us younger people first, so before you give your opinion, which you are entitled to, please think about this, you'll be old one day
That's often the danger Ummmm.
In my experience, it's those people who have the most guilty conscience, or biggest chip on their shoulder who weigh in with their opinions first.
Not only that, but folks don't seem to appreciate a 'catalyst' question, that spurs debate, rather than inhibits it.
You'll notice that no-one who posted actually answered the question - prefering instead to 'take a pop' - in itself a breach of the rules. Hey, ho!
For the record, I too have shaky hands and bad eyesight, but, at 41, suspect that this is not down to old age...
