Why are the british so rascist?

Following on from some previous posts about foreigners with rucksacks and jews and muslims im wondering why are the british so rascist?
Britain was behind slavery,persecutionj of the jews,crusading against the muslims in the 13th century,we ruled india and pakistan and australia and treated the indigenous population like second class citizens.
Why are the british like this?
Afterall look around yopu and ask is this such a great place that we can judge others?A country of workshy chavs who would rather drink and do drugs than an honest days work.I think we are a country in decline still living on the memories of the british empire.

well i never used to think so many people were racist, but since reading so many posts over the past few days, so many people are. i didnt realise there was so much ignorance around, ive decided after this post, i am just not going to comment on it, racists are such damn stupid people that no amount of reasoning will change their biggoted views. all i can do is make sure my children are bought up to respect people and take them as they are, not for the colour of their skin or their religion.

I am confused,just watched a programme about people from this country opening bars on the continent called " Brits Abroad".

A similar programme about corner off licences was banned because it was called "P@k1s Abroad"

Could somebody please explain the difference.

I'm only too glad the Ed deleted the post from another AB'er last night, which included the words: "Get rid of the bl00dy lot" including Jews, etc.

I replied saying that my late father-in-law was Jewish & if Hitler & his henchmen had have "got rid of the bl00dy lot of them", I wouldn't be married to my wonderful husband, or have our wondeful children & grandchildren.

Doesn't bear thinking about.....

Miss Random, I fail to see how you form the opinion that being racist is "ignorant". I would say that people who throw doggy poo at Asians or go about their business whacking black people is rather ignorant, but being racist??

Surely one could argue that the liberal stance is also "ignorant"

I think that should have been left smudge, it was a good debate, I like jewish people, i have no problem with any race, but the words we put like the ones I have above surely are in essence Rascist, but nobody in Britain takes offence, my welsh mates like me calling them taff, it is indeed a term of endearment not an insult, silly isn't it.

I did not say get rid of Jews. I did say I understand people have a deep distrust of them Remebmer Robert Maxwell' I simply mentioned their money lending activities in 30's Germany. God somepeople can be so touchy.

For the last few days people on here have been telling us we should just get on with our lives and not let the situation alter us or the terrorists will have won, shall i also not now post on AB because some people disagree with my opinion, which is that i want to just get on with my life without worrying about other people trying to influence what i do and say?
