never meet your heros

I am in a kind of 'never meet your heros situation?'
Everyone thinks my dad is great, funny, kind, hard working. My next door neighbour who recently fell out with her only son, said she wishes he was more like my dad.
But i have to live with him and can't wait to move out. (please noone complain that i'm moaning, you don't have to live with this man)
~He always complains he has no money, yet buys at least £15 of food that is unecessary each week, then wastes half the meat - another ten pound at least, by not using the left overs. Yet he smokes and must spend £15-20 a week on that, so we could save about £50 a week (he tries to give up but he admitted that he doesn't really want to, but says he could easily if he wanted to)
~He is such a fussy eater, its rediculous, and saturday is normally the only night i get to have rice, noodles or pasta, and if i get a big pack of noodles i have a stir fry instead of a proper roast on a sunday. But the rest of the week its potatoes and rarely anything else.
~He took no notice in my school work, and didn't even know what gcse subjects i took, he thought i'd taken art instead of maths! But when i got asked to stay behind for revision, for my up coming exams, he told me off for getting a detention, which it wasn't, but he thought i got it because i weren't paying attention in lessons and needed to catch up.
~My oldest brother is 24 years older than me, and i think he thinks that he can bring me up the same way that he did him and my other siblings, but times have moved on, until i'm eighteen the only boy thats allowed round, is my gay friend, who i've known since we were 8.
So am i living in a never meet your heros situation, and if people had to live with him all of the time, would they feel the ame way about him do you think?

Umm, if me or my mum didn't step in, we'd have something like steak and chips (deep fried) with ooba unhealthy gravy and no vegetables at all. But because we do step in, we have some peas with it.
and we have at least one roast dinner a week, probly works out at about 7 a month, and its all greasy, with fat running through the tough chewy and fatty meat, grease on top of the gravy, the vegetables been boiled so much that there's no vitamins left in them.
and then most weeks we have burgers and chips which i almsot retch on because of the grease.
but i try to be healthy, i have a healthy breakfast and lunch but its not enough when you have some much grease and fat and little nutrients piled on to your plate for your main meal.
I get one sometimes two healthy evening meals a week, but even then he interfers with his bombastic ways, throwing more butter and salt into my food.

You have mentioned GCSEs so you are old enough to get at least a paper round, do this then use the money you earn to buy your own food. You're probably not overweight and as somebody else said you can exercise more if you feel that you're gaining weight. What he will and won't eat may annoy you but it's his decision at the end of the day.

Molly, from reading your past posts on here you sound like your head is more on your shoulders than off. I think you are very lucky to have what you presently have in your life and should be appreciative. Also, you should take heed to what these kind people on here are saying to you, they all made sense. You've asked what everyone thought and you've been rude to some; that's not very nice.
Are you forced to eat the food which you are given? If you think pork chops are unhealthy why not eat only the vegetables? Are you familiar with the old saying "beggars can't be choosers"?

the chips are deep fried.
Yeah i can't eat anything else and have to eat it all. For a year or so i was having salad and slightly healthier versions of what my mum and dad ate but he said that he couldn't afford to keep buying the extra stuff for me.
I've applied for several part time jobs including paper rounds but didn't get them. Plus there was a round, that included my road in the autum of 2008 (when i was 15!) but my mum wouldn't let me apply because it would be dark when i got home from school, when i would have to do it.

Who the hell are you to question why I have the internet but temporarily didn't have enough money for food for my whole family?
I happen to need the internet as due to the fact I am terminally ill and practically housebound I need some way to connect with the outside world! Is that ok with you or would you prefer that I am isolated as well as hungry?
You really are a spoiled and selfish little girl who needs to grow up.

I have no money to pay rent. I can't get a job, i still have to legally be at school. And i only get money when i go round my nan and grandads and help them out. With that money, along with the little i get for mym birthday and christmas, i am expected to buy presents for mym mum and dad at christmas, brithdays and mother/fathers day.
Sorry daffy i didn't realise your situation, you made it sound like you never ate properly.
BUT i am anything but spoilt. Do spoilt children do nearly an hours work around the house a day, plus take the dog for a walk and look after it with little other help. Don't spoilt children get to go on holiday every year year, most years we are lucky to go to wales or cornwall, i have been to stay with my auntie in lanzarote once and been to one or two other places in europe. Plus i don't get pocket money or have a tele or computer to myself. How is that spoilt?
