Many persons know about God. They may live in communities where most citizens claim to believe that he exists. But does this mean that they really know God? Well, there is a difference in knowing about the ruler of the country where one lives and in having a personal acquaintance with him. So, too, with knowing God.

Yes, he's coming round for curry and lager tonight.
I used to babysit his son when he was little.
Yes indeed. He was an alien. ;o)

Yes indeed. A very appropriate score. :o)
i can't know something that doesn't exist, in my eyes at any rate, and going on AB, many others.
I've come to know that it doesn't exist!
Here we go again........Yawn.

Elderman, from reading through a lot of this stuff you really give people who do have a deep faith a bad name with your apparent line in BS, instead of trying to brainwash people , let them make up their own minds.

Yes you ........Yawn but can’t see what is under your noses!! Can you?

The object is to show what man has done to God’s creation. But any reasoning person would know that the mind and the heart are two of the most wonderful faculties possessed by humans. Though their operations are innumerable, they themselves are unique to each individual. Our personality, speech, conduct, emotions, and values are all deeply affected by the way in which our minds and hearts operate.

The world has its intellectuals and its elite to whom people look for answers to such profound questions as the origin and purpose of life and the destiny of mankind. But what insight and guidance do they have to offer Atheism, agnosticism, evolution, and a host of other confusing and conflicting ideas and theories that are no more enlightening than the rituals and superstitions of the past. Many worldly pursuits also seem to offer a measure of satisfaction and fulfillment.

People speak of success and achievement in science, art, music, sports, politics, and so on. They revel in their fleeting moments of glory. Nonetheless, the annals of history and the record books of today are full of forgotten heroes. All of this is nothing but emptiness, idleness, vanity, foolishness, purposelessness, and frustration, and yes probably brainwash people?.
I have been lurking around here for sometime before I joined. What I see is that there is a lot of disrespect for God. I know a few atheists and usually find them to be respectful even though they don't believe. I can't say that for those on this site. It seems to be all one big joke.

If you don't like what you read, why bother answering?

IMO it seems that you really want to know but are trying to give the impression you don't.

Why don't you be honest with yourselves and give the likes of Elderman a chance? Or is that too simple for you?
Then, Mymon. you can't have read very well as 85% of his "contributions" are cut and pastes from the likes of the Christadelphians - and then he still manages to get caught out with his knotted arguments and tortology.

Good well presented and logical reasoning I can live with - blatant bible bashing, I can not.
Mymom, had you lurked a little longer you would have realised that few people here consider religion to be a joke. Far from it.

Give Elderman a chance? A chance at what? And what do you think we want to know?
Mymom, you should try to understand that it is difficult to disrespect something that doesn't exist. To you, god may be some kind of being that you respect, to me god is just a concept and a very dangerous one which is why when Elderman spouts his usual lies in the guise of truths I and some others on this site contradict him and draw attention to the silliness of his statements. You may not have noticed but atheists on this site do not bang on about how evolution is wonderful and will transform their life and give it meaning and help them to go to paradise or achieve nirvana. All we do is contradict ignorant fools who have the arrogance to tell everyone that they have access to some spiritual knowledge that will help every one understand everything, by closing their minds to everything but the bible.

Yes you two can ........Yawn too but can’t see what is under your noses!! Can you?
I just see the ground, my stomach, my feet etc so the usual tosh starting to emerge. When do the quotes from Timothy or Corinthians begin?
and what is under your nose Elderman..?

//and what is under your nose Elderman//..? ......jomifl.... DTcrosswordfan........ naom....... Slapshot....... But under the scrutiny of your peers, how tall, short, fat, or thin you are—not to mention the shape of your nose or ears—can become a source of great anxiety. And when others get more attention than you or when you are chided about your looks, you can easily begin to feel bad about yourself.
I am sure that I have seen some of the screed you pass off as your own thought in pamphlets handed out by a religious sect.
He's lost the plot completely, I suppose sympathy would be in order?
You're right Elderman, I can't see what's under my nose...my nose gets in the way.

You bleat on as if you are the only person who has and understands faith. As far as I can see your faith amounts to attempts to force your views down our throats and the ability of other websites to put enough quotes in place for you to use.

I had religion years ago, i was brought up in the church but for all that god is good I gave up on it because that Good took two of my kids away before they had the chance to have a life. To have a minister bleat on that it was his purpose is enough to make you puke. The truth is that science explains why my kids died and explains why our world exists day to day, there's no omnipitent individual dealing out the cards of our destiny, despite you best quotes. I'd rather believe in the Force.

My faith exists in the love of my wife and of my kids..... If you have that what more do you need
PS... I'm 45 overweight and going bald and I'm not vain enough to really worry about what people think of me
