Many persons know about God. They may live in communities where most citizens claim to believe that he exists. But does this mean that they really know God? Well, there is a difference in knowing about the ruler of the country where one lives and in having a personal acquaintance with him. So, too, with knowing God.

@ Elderman You see yourself as a prophet, preaching the light to us poor unenlightened. You have variously compared yourself to the Apostles, even Jesus himself, which says little for your humility and much for the arrogance of the unchallenged, faith based, evidence free world view you have.

It has been clearly demonstrated that you offer nothing new - almost the entirety of your output is from cut and paste sources that you refuse to attribute or acknowledge - and you attempt to justify this behaviour by claiming that such actions do not matter since the original message is worth hearing.

Such behaviour invalidates your argument, and by association the message, and brings me back to the initial point, that such certainty, derived in no small part from screeds that twist the facts to fit the faith, is simply arrogant.

Fortunately, most people do not carry their view of others to such extremes. But, even so, is not pompousness and self-importance common among people you know or deal with? Many persons consider aggressiveness and assertiveness to be the only way to “get ahead, where to I don’t know.
still true Christian are more warmth and sympathy.
Others may have a different view - but I see no humility, no warmth in your cut and paste endevours Elderman. Your continued refusal to engage with counter-argument and rebuttal results in a complete lack of respect for any of your posts, and by association the message.

Evangelising and sanctimonious sermonising gain you nothing, and just engender ill will.

@Elderman - Ahh flattery! Even those posts you intend to be insulting are unoriginal and stem from you copying, in this case, me.

flattery may appear to be the gainful course, the Bible points out that “he that is reproving a man will afterward find more favor than he will that is flattering with his tongue. When a person employs flattery to gain advantage over another person, it is the opposite of love. A hater may resort to flattery but will eventually have his deceptiveness roll back on him like a stone.—Pr 26:24-28.
Elderman, I don't believe Jesus Christ was ever sarcastic, so if you follow him closely as you claim, why do you indulge in practices he didn't ?

No his fellow Christians in Corinth, Paul wrote: “The weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God; and we are bringing every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5) Today, True Christian are using God’s Word to overturn strongly entrenched false doctrines as well as deeply embedded practices and traits that displease him. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) In doing this, the true Christian remember that God has lovingly been patient with them. How happy we are to have his Word, the Bible, and to use this powerful tool to uproot false teachings
Elderman, give it a rest. 2012's a new year and you can start all over again.
