Many persons know about God. They may live in communities where most citizens claim to believe that he exists. But does this mean that they really know God? Well, there is a difference in knowing about the ruler of the country where one lives and in having a personal acquaintance with him. So, too, with knowing God.

This where the heart comes in, for in the Bible it is associated with motivation. A true worshiper of God can say with the inspired Bible writer: “In my heart I have treasured up your saying,........(Ps. 119:11)

A person could take excellent knowledge about God’s purposes into his mind, could grasp many of the fine principles of the Bible, and yet not have it in his heart to apply those principles and that knowledge to his own course in life. Many people have heard the refreshing truths of God’s Word, but when it comes to applying them in their lives or extending the same opportunity to others—they just do not have the heart for such lifesaving activity.

The mind must of necessity take in and digest information. It is the seat of intellect, the knowledge-processing center. It assembles information and by process of reason and logic it reaches certain conclusions. And the Scriptures indicate that it is, in some amazing way, directly related to the heart. The heart has a vital role, for with it are associated the affections and motivation. The heart’s direction of one’s whole course in life becomes evident . They find out eventually what the person really is on the inside. (1 Pet. 3:3, 4)

Elderman, so this is your contribution to society, telling everybody that you know what god feels and that nobody knows god as well as you. Your humility is beyond compare.
Jomifl - is that what Elderman was saying to ME? Is his answer a few posts back an answer to MY question about what his motivation is?
Elderman, can you just tell me if Jomifl interpretation or your answer was correct. "Yes" or "no" please

Notafish... with regard to jomifli’s comment – I leave it to you to judge for yourself.

However in clear and simple terms Jesus showed how humility can safeguard a person! (Prov. 16:18) But not only can it save you from suffering possible embarrassment before humans, it will save you from the adverse judgment of God, of whom it is said: “God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones.” (Luke 20:45-47) Jesus indicated God’s estimation of self-exalted, self-important ones when, on another occasion, he was speaking to “some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and who considered the rest as nothing.” (Luke 18:9) To these persons, he gave an illustration about a Pharisee and a tax collector, explaining:
The Pharisee stood and began to pray these things to himself: ‘O God, I thank you I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week, I give the tenth of all things I acquire.’ But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward, but kept beating his breast, saying: ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’ I tell you, This man went down to his home proved more righteous than that man; because everyone that exalts himself will be humiliated, but he that humbles himself will be exalted.”—Luke 18:9-14.
As you read the Bible, it is remarkable to note how often Jesus encountered people who thought they were superior to others, and how often he warned such ones about the danger of their I-am-more-important-than-others attitude.
Elderman, you said here ......

.... that you're willing to debate, so why don't you answer the question Notafish asked you? If she wanted to judge for herself, as you've told her to, she'd have done it. What's the point of continuing to bombard this site with all your inane ramblings if you refuse to explain yourself to people who haven't understood what you've said? I suspect you can't answer because you don't understand what you're talking about yourself.
Elderman, you are deliberately not answering my question. All I asked was "What is YOUR motivation for writing these threads?" And all you keep doing is writing riddles, and saying stuff along the lines of "work it out for yourself". How can I possibly guess what YOUR motivation is.
I thought you could give a simple answer; such as:
I know the road to heaven and I want to help some other Answerbankers to come with me
OR
I just like a good ol' debate
OR
I think they're all rotten and I want them all to get better
OR
I feel it's my duty to pass on what I know.
All I wanted was a simple, clear (one sentence, if poss) answer. But I'm not going to get one, am I.
Elderman, your humility is exceeded only by your modesty.
Thanks Naomi. I honestly can't see how his answers to me, are answers to my actual question. I'm really not being awkward, and I'm definitely not stupid. Anyway, I'm going to have to give up now as it's making me feel frustrated.
Notafish, Don't let it get to you. It's par for the course. He has no answers.
Thanks Naomi, no I won't let it get to me. I know my limitations, and this is why I need to get off this thread before I get a headache.
It seems to me that there are only two things that Elderman really knows, and they are Jack and shіt.
Notafish. What Elderman does is to grasp the most difficult questions with both hands and throw them out of sight. The less difficult questions he just ignores. Happy new year :-)

poor you
@Elderman - repetetive and meaningless rejoinder - a duplicate of what you have posted on another thread. I must say, these examples of your own work are certainly lacking when compared to your usual cut and paste sermonising.

LG.........Now concerning the Christians’ model, did the Jesus become a monk and hide himself from people? Far from it! Instead of seeking to get away from people he sought to find people! How? Did he establish himself as a resident pastor and invite the public to hear him sermonize on morals, wars and taxes? Not that! Nor did Christ inaugurate pew-sitting or any other passive way of serving God. To the rich young ruler who hoped that merely living a “clean life” was the requisite for inheriting everlasting life, Jesus said: “There is yet one thing wanting about you: . . . come be my follower.” (Luke 18:22, ) To follow Jesus meant to engage in the same work he did.
Elderman - much as your posts give rise to discussion, nobody (it seems) is being converted to your way of thinking, for reasons many have already stated. I'd give it a rest if I were you.
Thanks Jomifl, and a Happy New Year to you, and all :-)
Question Author
True, Jesus never did predict world conversion to Christianity.
notafish - because of the brainwashing, he can not answer the simple questions, the real bouncers of balls that he know will likely bowl him out. To others, he pontificates, not by originality but repitious cutting and pasting. The latest contribution being one drawn from the "cercetatiscripturile" site. Just picking up part of the "text" and googling it unravels his deception.

If only he would acknowledge that he is doing this and referring to articles (as any learned writer, researcher or contributor would do so) with the appropriate credit, then that would be a start.
