Which religion has the worst record for sexual discrimination?

I prefer sitting on the fence sith especially as these threads "have" to be black or white and no grey area...as I've said before, there's opinions and opinions and then there's "belief" and each side is totally sure they are right but nowt can be proved...

this is a basic question naomi, do you think that if islam is so sexist than how come many women convert to islam and marry muslims? surely by your knowledge they would not, but they do.

i know, i am not trying to convert, as i have said there are already enough people converting to islam that if you looked carefully you would see islam is spreading rapidly. I know someone is going to point out high birth rates and all that, but there are so many non muslims who have converted to islam in the past, the present and inshalah the future that i have nothing to worry about.

sith, what you describe is something to worry about, at least that is how i see it, all the hard won freedoms that past generations of women in Britain have fought for count for nothing seemingly. I can't see how converting to any religion is right, let alone Islam. These women and men have made their choice, perhaps it has to do with marrying a Muslim and converting because that is what they thought they should do. As some have said they were fed up with the party lifestyle, and believed that Islam holds the key to happiness, i wish them well, but feel it's a fools paradise.

Sith, divorce is much more favourable to women? Really? Why is it, then, that a man can obtain a divorce far easier than a woman? Why is there a difference?

If Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, it's because Muslims generally have big families - that's all.

As for women converting, just think. If you’d have converted to Judaism, your wife would probably be Jewish now. Something to mull over.

Is it because you hope to impose your beliefs and practises on everyone else, or is it to confirm to you that you have made the right choice, not that many muslims have much choice as in many other religions.

So this silly man’s explanation for a woman having been made ruler is that all the men had been killed and there was no one else available? And you think that’s a good reason? Well, that explains that then. Your spokesman would probably have been better off keeping quiet – as would you. Even to have big families you need love between wife and husband, and then you do accept that lots of women are marrying Muslims and converting to Islam. That really means that they are going towards more loving and carrying people. But you believe Muslims mistreat women. Again your equation does not add up.

I would love to know how educated this women is? I have heard that at least 20 times in last 3 years. And usually when someone does not agree with her. That uneducated person known as Muhammad (pbuh) has 1.8 billion followers and among them are and have been in the history very well known people and pioneers of (what you believe in ) science. And shall I give another list of scientist at present time who agree that the uneducated person called Muhammad did talk about things which scientists only found out recently. I know what you would say now. Do you want me to say that before you say? No I will wait.
