Is God's purpose for mankind the conversion of the world to the so-called Christian religions? That is what the majority of the sects of Christendom teach.

That's a bit deep Mibs...:-)
Goodlife, personal criticism is usually an indication of the lack of an argument, didn't god tell you that.
Has God’s Purpose for Mankind Failed?,

Yes, in that God, (if you believe in him,) created mankind for two reasons only.

1) To worship him, and sing his praises.

2) To obey him in all things.

Don't do either of those, and you will be punished, maybe even killed.

Mind you, I'm only going by the Old Testament.
@Goodlife - Once again you betray the depths of your antithesis toward science, and a lack of understanding of just what things mean.

Evolution is often portrayed by believers as "only a theory" or patronisingly as Darwinism. Neither response is measured or objective, or true, for that matter. Evolution has moved on since Darwin - because thats what science does, and unlike the bible which is immutable and incapable of changing. Thats why believers get in such a mess when they attempt to justify biblical events or teachings with their particular version of science.

Nor is evolution only a theory, at least in the way that you mean it. Masses of cross- disciplinary evidence support the current model of evolution, ranging from molecular biology through to paleontology.

And what do you guys have in support of your - well, certainly not a scientific theory - perhaps a bedtime story - creation narrative? A book alleged to be the inerrant word of god, despite the fact that it has been edited, redacted, falsely attributed etcetc, and fervent believers, generally ignorant of science.

I know which one is far more likely
Who are we to dare ask what his great purpoise is?

Know then thyself, presume not God to scan
The proper study of mankind is man

Yeah, well, if you can spare a moment, perhaps you'd be so kind as to throw me down a good length of rope . . . tied at your end, of course. :o/
Blimey - have just read this thread and I'm gobsmacked.

Trying to get any sense out of goodlife is like banging your head against a brick wall: it is truly worrying how cults like Jehovahs Witnesses manage to brainwash the gullible into believing the utter cobblers they spout.

Make my eyes pass on from seeing what is worthless.—Ps. 119:37.

So if anyone is going to lay hold on everlasting life, he must do the same thing that Jesus Christ, Peter, John, Paul and all the rest of the apostles and disciples of Christ did. They all boldly declared the good news of God’s kingdom. The modern-day witnesses of Jehovah are trying hard to do the work Jesus said must be done “for a witness to all the nations.” and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:14)
Goodlife, again no answers from you – and you still haven’t explained your fascinating assessment of my personality – or did you just jump on someone else’s conveniently constructed bandwagon with that? Nevertheless, you continue to drone on with your incessant preaching. Is it really that difficult for you to understand that people aren’t impressed by it or by tracts copied from the bible? The same has been done by contributors here before, but eventually, unlike you, they were wise enough to realise the stark, if unpalatable, truth. Neither means anything to those who do not believe as you do, so please, do us all a favour - either debate sensibly – or put a sock in it. It’s unproductive, it’s tedious - and it’s potty!
Nice to here from Sandy again. It was written on the temple of Apollo at Delphi, Sandy, long before Pope wrote it. Well, not the full couplet.
As for the rest of you, why are you persevering with the impossible task of trying to discuss issues logically with a puppet who is incapable of rational discourse?
goodlife //Make my eyes pass on from seeing what is worthless.—Ps. 119:37//

So you have a philosophy that defines all perspectives contrary to the doctrine as intrinsically worthless and then implores the devotee to avoid even looking at alternative viewpoints.

No wonder the religious remain so profoundly ignorant.
It's a puppet, Beso: the ear bits DON'T WORK. And there isn't a brain bit.
How annoying is it to have to look at quotations from a book that various people wrote a fair while ago? Can't you 'christians' argue logically without constant reference to a book that often contradicts itself, written in a totally different age and social environment? If questioned on specifics you usually say 'ah well this was meant metaphorically' or we don't regard 'genesis' as strictly true etc etc.Science certainly doesn't have all the answers but your very old book definitely doesn't!Scientists often discover that they were wrong about things and move on,religion doesn't seem to.I don't really care what you believe in,just don't feel you have to continue to persuade others that your delusions are right.

George and Ringo . . . the unsung apostles!

We should hope so.

A fact time great importance to true Christians is that the Bible is the only record that accurately lists all the periods of time back to the creation of man, and even beyond. No other document does this. That is why true Christians can have such confidence in all matters of Bible prophecy that contain time features.

He has a set time for every purpose. When he promises a new world we can rejoice in the fact that for a certainty, exactly on time, such prophecies will be fulfilled.( ; Matt. 24:34)

True worshipers today do not have the anxiety, for they know that their God, Jehovah, is guiding them in paths of life, and that he tells them in advance what to expect and when to expect it.
Jom, you surely don't expect him to give a straight answer to a straight question? He can't.

zzzzzzzzzzz
I see he, goodlife is back at the c and p - yawn - oh so original - one of these days he may come up with something original but the chances of that are about the same as the conversion of Naomi to becoming a JW.

His garbage above, another source of original thinking: http://www.watchtower...020608/article_01.htm

Tell me do you get paid for barfing up JW texts or is there some sort of credit system that brings you increased status in the "organisation"?
Probably just spreading the good word DT, just spreading the good word to you.
I can read a better quality of garbage in something like Hello magazine though, OG, and as for spreading, this mindless duplication of JW missives is like LeurPak and I don't like that either.
