A syndicated columnist reaches to a higher source for help: he said,It is impossible to have a moral community or nation without faith in God, because everything rapidly comes down to ‘me,’ and ‘me’ alone is meaningless. The entire twentieth century is being sucked into the vortex of atheism and self-destruction.

goodlife //Well I know what I know, and believe what I know.Regardless of what you all say,the world is in bad way and not getting better. //

And you know what you know because someone told you they had interpreted an old book in the name of a "god" that nobody has every seen such that they have the permanent and unwavering truth about all questions of morality. Hence it is unnecessary for a person to think. It has all been done for them and they just need to follow.

The faithful must not question these beliefs in any way because faith will be broken and the truth will no longer be evident.

Faith in and coerced adherence to unquestionable philosophical code is the antithesis of morality. Religious law is one of the most primitive forms of justice ever invented.

Religion is only very finely removed from the bottom of the pack which is represented by "Do as I say or I will beat your head in".

It is fascism. Surely we all acknowledge fascism as a breach of human rights?
Goodlife, with regard to the possibility or otherwise of a creator God existing, you don't 'know' anything - you just think you do.
"That's all I will say on the matter" - typical christian dogma.
Good luck with a response to that, Naomi it looks like Goodlife isn't open to debate.
Nice to see the all-embracing culture of the Religious right is still being proglumated in some Ab'ers musings, I personally dispair of any religion having the mental capacity to even sort their own shortcomings out let alone the Worlds problems.
goodlife May I suggest you read the hstory of the Holy Roman Empire which lasted for 1000 years in Europe from about AD 800 to 1800
during which time the Christian church virtually ruled Europe. During that time almost half the population died through religious wars and the purges by the Inquisition. Most of the wealth of Europe was aquired by the church, leaving the poor in extreme poverty, through the peddling of fear and the sale of condolences. That is what happens when the clerics are in control.

If you want to see it happening today just look at the Middle East, another example of your Abrahamic beliefs.
I am starting to genuinely feel sorry for goodlife.
I cannot say I have any sympathy for someone whose posts with the sole intent of evangelising, Wildwood.

Virtually all posts are cut and paste from JW websites. Unreferenced and unacknowledged cut and pasting too, which would at least have the virtue of being honest. All answers to replies are circular, obtuse, referencing biblical verses exlusively. Little sense of the real words or the real feelings of the OP.

The cynic in me would say that they make these posts possibly to gain converts but mostly to gain kudos within their own circles of friends and like minded believers.......
LG, I think you're right. I doubt Goodlife has induced many to convert. Rather the opposite I'd say. :o/
