We have heard so much about the end of the world because the Mayan calendar predicted it, but we are still here. Others say that the Bible says we are in the last days. So what do you think? Do you think the end of the world is coming?

For millennia theists have been predicting the apocalypse and use to give dates but with each failure they have changed the words.
They now say the world will change as we know it, or it is the beginning of a new era.
Which of course they are right , every micro second that passes the world is different from the previous micro second.
Yes the end of the world is coming but it will change as we know it and begin a new era in a different form. I think that covers all eventualities.

Well, we all know that the sun will eventually burn itself out, so definitely the end of the world will happen. Bible says "man will destroy himself", whichever comes first. I would say the latter for sure. We also survive sometimes in space terms, only centimetres from massive asteroid collisions which upon impact could block out the sun for enough time to kill everything on this planet. So, yes the world will end in some way and nobody knows quite when.

It has never said on such a date......the earth or world, will end.

An expression found six times in the book of Daniel is "the time of the end" . It refers to a time period marking the conclusion of a system of things and culminating in its destruction. The prophet Daniel was given a preview of events to occur in the distant future. Thereafter he was told: “And as for you, O Daniel, make secret the words and seal up the book, until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant.”—Da 12:4.

The expression “time of the end” is also used in association with particular developments in connection with human government.

Its not so much what we are saying or thinking here that is at issue Truthabounds - its all the looney tune "prophets" who have used verse from the bible to predict the end of days - armageddon, all of that - Harold Camping is just one of the more modern examples.

They are just like you - interpreting biblical verse, feeding through the mangler, to support their interpretation.

Time of the end = conclusion of the system of things and culminating in its destruction. This is the usual end time biblical nonsense that you fundamentalists yearn for, and no amount of euphemistic spin will alter that.

It doesn't matter what the bible says. Not a single word was ' written ' by God. Every word was written by man and based on man's miniscule knowledge of the world at the time of it being written and being passed down orally , starting with Genesis.
