Goodlife you really are something else. You post meaningless questions with a slightly spiritual air to them to make it sound as if somehow you are morally superior because of your religion.
Do you believe everything in the bible. Do you believe in slavery, stoning people to death for working on Sunday or for wearing clothes of more than one material? Do you believe children should be killed for answering their parents back?
If the answer to any of these questions is no then you are being selective in what morals you have. So your moral compass is the same as everyone elses and not derived from your bible
Chris, he doesn't want answers to the questions he posts. He simply abuses the site to preach.
So now you're resorting to copy/pasting your own copy/pasting . . . is there no end to your circular 'logic'?

Naomi, Thanks. I know what you mean but it's really difficult to just sit here and read this claptrap that he comes out with without responding.
I wish I could meet him face to face and "discuss" his religion with him. I'd be really interested to see if he is as I imagine him.
Chris, he has no interest in discussing religion. He's here for one reason only - to preach.

If it helps, he tells me he's Chinese .... but ... ;o)

I think to each his own...
Men has not forgotten god. Men is beginning to realise that humans have been fooled in the past by instilling fear of retribution for non-conformists, and indeed, atrocities have been carried out supposedly to please your god.

You just carrying on posting your rabble, it only shows more and more people how disillusioned you and your cronies are.
goodlife I hope you don't mind but may I ask you a personal question ? Why do you live in your narrow spiritual world. Your God's world and beyond is filled with thousands of subjects , themes , on just about everything.
Just look at the subjects here on AB , but you appear to have no interest in them unless you can turn them into something religious and even that is limited to your specific Christian cult. Your God gave you a brain to learn about his whole world but you choose to ignore him. You choose to pigeon hole him. as if he doesn't exist outside the bible. I doubt if he looks upon you with favour. Whatever God is , it is not encased in a single book

serious question, not a dig - why do you do this?

why do you post oever and over again all this stuff that is greeted with disdain, ridicule and even anger at times - what is your purpose in doing this?

you must see that it is not working - no-one listens to you and you most certainly will never ever convert anyone ... so why waste your time?

seriously what good do you think this is doing?

if anything it is having the OPPOSITE effect from the one to intend, because people appear to think you are a bit doolally

so surely doing what you are doing is actually damaging the church, and god etc - because the only effect it seems to have is people believe even less because people continuously run rings round you.

if anything i would imagine that one or two people have actually STOPPED BELIEVING IN GOD due to reading the discrepancies etc in your threads.

god will not be pleased with you at all - you are making it worse!

My time is not a waste time and again I am not trying to convert, no you have to convert yourself.

For not only has the so-called “non-Christian” population doubled, but even what claims to be Christian is farther away from really being Christian than it ever had been, so what am I doing ? When Jesus was on trial before Pilate the Israelites again had to make a decision, between the Devil as represented by Caesar and Jehovah God as represented by his Son. They made the wrong decision on that occasion, shouting, “We have no king but Caesar.” (John 19:15)

That Jesus did not expect his disciples to convert the world is apparent from his own words as recorded at Luke 18:8-“I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Certainly the world was not converted to God, in spite of the all the marvellous things Jesus did.
It is the same today.
Would you mind letting me know whether you have any intention of responding to my question about whether you know Truthabounds as on page one of this thread, please?
What he's doing joko is the internet equivalent of the guys who stand on the street corner preaching. There's no expectation of anyone converting or even listening, and they don't want to get into a discussion.
It's just that they feel an obligation to do it.
I think Ludwig has the right of it. This preaching and evangelising conducted by goodlife and similar is not aimed so much at the forum audience, but at the wider audience who may be reading but not contributing, or to others who stumble across their post whilst doing an internet search.

Rarely do they engage with the substantive arguments. Rarely do they acknowledge the sins they commit when they do post.

Witness goodlifes contribution here - no response to any of the comments about intellectual dishonesty or the lack of evidence to support their OP. The only time they bother to offer a response is when Joko questions why they continue to post, then they post some nonsense about defending the true faith against the encroaching hordes of the godless.

Organised religions of all stripes must be worried at their increasing irrelevance ; Like Joko though, i tend to think that posts such as goodlifes discourage more people than they convert......

I'd agree. If you're a curious about religion but sitting on the fence, seeing this kind of stuff would be more likely to tip you over to the atheist side.
As I said though, I don't think that's their concern. It's more about fulfilling what they see as an obligation under their religion to spread the word.

Lazy@ No People are hearing the warning and many, though few as compared with earth’s population, will hear and survive. (Mat:24:14)
Goodlife, //so what am I doing ?//

You asked the question, but I fail to see an answer in the rest of your post. Just more preaching. So what are you doing?
"I'm not preaching" says goodlife. I must admit this is a very novel approach. It's as if I come on this site every few days, extolling the virtues of a certain airline and when people ask why am I advertising it, I say, I'm not advertising, you must discover the airline for yourself.
More cut and paste responses from Goodlife.

You can find an almost identical response, including the biblical reference, here
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120709190731AA4RPmL
( you might need to scroll through the responses a bit)

At least the person who offered that response had the decency to source his quotations, unlike Goodlife.

I think what irritates me most is that, naive person that I am ,I was once impressed with the level of bibilical scholarship that posters such as Truthabounds and even Goodlife appeared to represeent, with their biblical quotations and references.

It was only after reading a few of their stock questions and responses to critiques that I realised that it was all unattributed cut and paste verbiage. Many of them were even so ashamed of what they were that they refused to acknowledge which religion they belonged to.

I wish to see original content. I want to see individual argument. Where you think that a site or organisation has made the point better, thats OK - but just link to the page, so the reader can see the context, and the author gets the attribution.

What we get instead is stock questions, coupled with stock answers - followers who offer verbiage by rote, with little or no thought associated.
