//your quest in patrolling Religion and Spirituality is to quote you, to save some poor soul. //
Oops! You’ve fallen at the first fence. I didn’t say that’s my quest – you did.
//A soul is the immortal part of a human being, but you do not accept that we carry on beyond death. //
You need to take your prejudiced religious blinkers off and read my posts more thoroughly.
//Your quest is not clear.//
How odd! You thought you found it clear enough in your last post.
//Perhaps you can reaffirm quite what your mission is.//
Why would I need to do that? You seem to think you know already.

Since you like the line by line style here goes
"Grasscarp, now if I answer your question, you’re not going to go around telling fibs and spreading malicious gossip again about how harshly you’re treated here, are you? Well, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt."
I do not "tell fibs" and I do not "spread malicious gossip" - nice start to the conversation!
"Oops! You’ve fallen at the first fence. I didn’t say that’s my quest – you did."
I have fallen at the first fence???? This is not a horse trial.
"You need to take your prejudiced religious blinkers off and read my posts more thoroughly"
I do not have "prejudiced religious blinkers" - more rudeness
Then I asked you if you would tell us what your mission is here on R&S
"Why would I need to do that? You seem to think you know already."
So - Although in the first line you say you are prepared to answer my question (with certain provisos about what I can and cant do!) in the last line you refuse to do that - because I (apparently) know already.
All you seem to do is pull apart anything anyone says line by line and carefully avoid actually saying anything meaningful about your own stance.

Grasscarp. //I do not "tell fibs" and I do not "spread malicious gossip"//
Perhaps a memory refresher is in order.

Yes, you do. See the link. When the victim mentality is presented with reality, the accusation of ‘rudeness’ is often the first line of defence. Sadly for you, the evidence is there.
//So - Although in the first line you say you are prepared to answer my question (with certain provisos about what I can and cant do!)//
It’s not unreasonable to ask you not to misrepresent me or the treatment you receive in R&S, as you have clearly done in the past.
//All you seem to do is pull apart anything anyone says line by line and carefully avoid actually saying anything meaningful about your own stance.//
If I am capable of pulling your posts apart, perhaps you need to rethink them before posting. Having said that, if I’m not saying anything meaningful, I can’t understand why what I am saying is causing you this seemingly continual irritation.
Despite having failed to read my many previous posts on the subject properly, you’re clearly very happy to continue to criticise, but I’m a patient ‘soul’, so once again, and this time just for your benefit, yes I think it’s possible that the energy amassed by the physical body during life survives corporal death – so call it a ‘soul’ if you like - and I’ll probably get lambasted by the scientists here for the way I’ve worded that – but what’s new? They don’t agree with me anyway. Having said that, I don’t believe that any of us ends up sitting on a cloud playing a harp, or inheriting the earth, or grovelling at some imaginary supernatural entity’s feet, or sitting at its right hand, or enjoying the attentions of umpteen virgins (do women get umpteen virgin men? Yuk! I do hope not!!) - or burning in hell, or whatever else the various flavours of ‘faithful’ think we end up doing for eternity.
I trust that is meaningful enough for you and has clarified the matter to your complete satisfaction.

I am interested to read that you
"think it’s possible that the energy amassed by the physical body during life survives corporal death – so call it a ‘soul’ if you like"
I also read another post of yours that you accept a possibility, albeit remote, that there is a God.
Sounds like we are not so unlike after all. Let's draw a line under previous posts and start afresh. Have a good day. I am off out now to see the grandchildren.

Grasscarp, // I also read another post of yours that you accept a possibility, albeit remote, that there is a God.//
From a scientific stand, I have no alternative but to acknowledge the extremely remote possibility of the existence of a creator – if you don’t know, you cannot in honesty claim you do – which is where science and religion part company – but having said that, I really don’t believe it at all. In my opinion, nothing is supernatural.
Thank you for the olive branch which is, of course, accepted. I wish you a good day.
