What must it be like to be forced to go to church every week and have to profess/practice your faith again and again.? Even if you hate it.
I'm thinking of the Queen , all the royals and to a lesser extent senior MPs.

For some it must be a life sentence. How do they cope ?

LG@ I write articles for a site on the web and I can't advertise it. Sorry.
idiosyncracy, that's nothing like an electoral roll ( the register of baptism) Figures may be collected centrally (although I doubt they are used to calculate church membership) but they are never updated or connected to the register of deaths. The church where I was christened and married has no idea where I am now or even if I am alive
Woolgang@ That's true. But it still registers you as being baptised into that religion.
So do you get a choirboy each Sunday as part of your remuneration, ludwig....?
"I went to church until well into my 20's. Then I had questions they could not answer. So I didn't go again. I am not registered with the Church of England any more because I wrote to the Diocese of Lichfield and asked them to remove my name from their register."

Honestly the nonsense you do talk. Having your name placed on the church's register at baptism means less than nothing, as I said your aren't centralised or updated or used as a register in any kind of meaningful sense.

Modeller//How is someone registered with a church . Is that the same as being baptised ? //
"It is very much like the electoral roll. When you get baptised, they put your name on a register. That is how they know how many belong to a denomination."

again as I said, complete drivel. They don't even know if you are still alive, let alone whether you are a church member

@Ideosyncracy. When you say you are not allowed to advertise the site you write for - do you mean AB will not allow you to advertise, or the site you work for?

All seems very mysterious.
idiosyncrasy, which religion do you follow?
idiosyncrasy //I don't subscribe to a religion //

That's pretty much what Truthabounds said - and he turned out to be a JW. You're not playing with words are you?
Naomi@ I don't have time for word games.
OK, so stop beating about the bush. What do you believe?
I bet he believes Monopoly's better than Scrabble.
