Women In Mosques

On news pictures showing Muslims at prayer in mosques I notice that it is all men doing so, are ladies not allowed there?

I know the original post was about mosques but let's not forget the recent segregation enforced on women (including non-muslims) at lectures in some of our universities.

naomi; Thanks - surprising! though the lecture appears to be a student initiative not part of any given university course and I guess there would always be the choice not to attend.

that was about a group in a debate, they asked for the sexes to be segregated in the hall, the Universities who face this should stomp on them. We didn't take fluffing years to get an education, only for some dimwit to come along and demand changes that are detrimental to women, they should like it or lump it. It must be the heat.. x

er no, it was the wish, wishes of the men, as per their religion, culture.

Both sexes had it enforced upon them.....and as it happens, in your link, it was withdrawn almost immediately after a man walked out in protest.

I didn’t read ‘almost immediately’ there … but three people were ordered to leave for objecting before one man eventually stormed out ignoring the audience jeering. It says much about the mentality of most of the audience - as well as that of the organisers.

The bottom line is the management are not doing their job.

That doesn't imply to me that days were lost so 'almost immediately' is as accurate as it could be.

Octavius, the report doesn’t need editing – it is accurate. If three people were asked to leave before the fourth protest finally caused segregation to be abandoned, it was not halted almost immediately. However, I can understand why a religious apologist would want to convey that impression.

and before someone says where is the evidence, there have been other instances i suspect that chrisgel may have provided some. if not i am sure i could find the article i read about other universities facing the same problem.
