Faith in the Bible does not hinge on what scientists say. When their advancing knowledge comes ever closer to conforming to the Bible, that does not make them become Christians.

No,they still cling to their religion of evolution. Faith does not depend on the archaeologists for establishment either.

Their discoveries merely confirm what the Bible has always said, but this confirmation does not convert them to Christianity. And when there is an apparent clash between the Bible and the interpretation they place upon a find, they lean toward their own understanding and not the Bible. (Prov. 3:5)

Science and archaeology are not essentials. They may serve a purpose in bringing infidels and atheists to their senses and cause them to examine the Bible more seriously, but faith should not be dependent upon such studies of science and archaeology for its foundation.

Vulcan, surprisingly :o) not. In fact the first sentence was enough to satisfy my need for gibberish.

Religion has aided the cause of the new atheists, as people have become fed up with the religious extremism, terrorism, and conflict plaguing the world. Religion poisons everything, says one leading atheist.

And yet according to physics professor said, if you take the top-notch scientists, you find very few atheists among them.
So neither the advances of science nor the failure of religion need force us to abandon belief in a Creator.

Why, well is has produced far more massacres and conflicts than goodness and altruism. They may recognize that atheism has a good effect on some, but they themselves remain profoundly skeptical.
/ if you take the top-notch scientists, you find very few atheists among them. / GL, I don't suppose you bothered to verify that quote did you? it's not too late you know.

Goodlife says "faith should not be dependent upon such studies of science and archaeology for its foundation."
It's not a case of "should be" - it's a case of "can't be". That's what "faith" means - a belief not based on generally agreed and accepted knowledge. Or, indeed, a belief opposed to generally agreed and accepted knowledge, held in utter denial of such knowledge.
Goodlife I can only assume you post here to try and get converts and I understand that but hopefully you can see it's just not working.

What you post is disjointed and really misses out some of the clever subtleties of other JW marketing material. Please show what you do to some of the higher up JW's, they are really good at this stuff and maybe they can give you some pointers on how to improve.

Don't just copy or paste stuff that you read because it sounds nice, just take a little time to digest it and if it sounds like it might easily get refuted by people on here then choose something else of higher quality, there's loads out there.

Good luck.
you'll need it :o)

Goodlife, any chance of answering my question?

//What discoveries - and where in the bible can I find them? //

Do you know, this psychological warfare, this “brainwashing,” does make converts to the evolution belief. But nearly all those converts are usually defenseless when confronted by those who resist the arm twisting and ask for proof, and what is a atheists, they have nothing.
Goodlife, ^^Could you rephrase that please? I can't make any sense out of it.

And please would you answer my question? I want to check the biblical references.
Nobody is a "convert" to atheism. We're all born that way and atheists don't have enough evidence to convince them otherwise. Believers are "brainwashed" by others. It's not a theory an individual independently arrives at.
Pixie, it is strange that more mosques are bombed by muslims than by atheists, just as well for isalm that most atheists(muslims) don't realise that they have a 'licence to kill'

That is so simple, who is there gods, because is not the of the Bible.

Naomi do you forget you said "I know my Bible" or it's You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know.”—John 4:22.
Goodlife, I don't forget what I've said - and I don't forget what you say. You haven't answered my question because your claim is insupportable.
The best basis for belief is something that is not demonstrably true, otherwise belief would not be necessary. Do you understand that goodlife or has the bible really undermined your ability to reason?
It isn't a matter of what substance there is in goodlife's "argument" but more about what substance he must be on.

This thread is significantly beyond the level if his usual drivel.
The whole point about belief is that it has no basis, because if you can justify belief it isn't belief. So belief doesn't need a basis, better or not.
another GL logic fail, as ever.
Science AND archaeology are not essentials? AND?
But wait, then you go on to back up your stuff by telling us what archaeologists, who study non-essential archaeology, have found to back it all up in the bible.
THEN, you say that top-notch scientists are believers in a god your god my god abendigod, even though science is pointless and meh. And distinct and separate to archaeology of course.
Where do I sign?
Goodlife, Still waiting for an answer.
