With no explanation, Goodlife is constantly telling the ‘poor’ atheists here that they have nothing – and today Khandro said exactly the same. I'm curious. Just what is it that these chaps think they have that the rest of us lack?

Personally, I'm still waiting for my free sandals.
Khandro

//naomi; You seem to be shooting yourself in the foot with that last comment, - better think before you post.//

That is rather confusing, I understood what naomi said, it seems to have confused you!

^ Because it is illogical. To assert that "Not many are saying anything nice about him", is to accept his existence, otherwise such criticism is invalid.
Khandro, there is very little to be said about nothing, I'm sure that a few philosophers could knock out a few volumes on the (lack of ) subject, but it would still amount to nothing. If however you have more information on nothing than is available to the rest of us then feel free to empty our minds :o)

Khandro, your ‘logic’ is completely illogical. Has the penny dropped yet, or do you want me to explain?
jomif; //there is very little to be said about nothing,// Well, Dawkins has made a fine career writing about something he says doesn't exist. I believe each evening he goes online to check his bank balance, and before turning in, kneels at the end of his bed and says "Thank you God, without you, instead of being a millionaire, I would be an unknown science-worker struggling to pay my mortgage". :-)
Dear Naomi,
"Nice to have backslappers", makes a pleasant change for me :).
I would prefer a backscratcher - a very few contributors are as irritating as an attack of eczema.
SIQ.
If you all believe God doesn't exist, then you're all discussions nothing. At great length.
Dear Khandro,
So you believe that you can read Dawkins mind and even his actions.
Sorry I cannot give you a reference (may have been Truman Capote in "In Cold Blood") but it cited the belief in ones ability to read minds was one of the first signs of paranoia.
Not in your case, I'm sure but be careful and please stick to facts.
I'm surprised that Naomi has taken the Dawkins bait. It's another red herring.
If Dawkins had never existed or was a closet theist, it would not effect this debate one iota. Atheism preceeded him.
Regards,
SIQ.

You know some of these question was posed 3,500 years ago by proud Pharaoh.

He wanted no answer to his question. Under his authority, priests promoted the worship of hundreds of false deities, like today.

Why, Pharaoh himself was considered a god! According to Egyptian mythology, he was the son of the sun-god Ra and an incarnation of the falcon-headed deity Horus.
Pharaoh was addressed using such titles as “the mighty god” and “the eternal.” So it was not surprising that he would scornfully ask: “Who is Jehovah, so that I should obey his voice?”........Exodus 5:2.

Moses and Aaron did not need to answer that question. Pharaoh knew that Jehovah was the God worshiped by the Israelites and that was all.

But Pharaoh and all Egypt would soon learn that Jehovah is the true God. Similarly today, Jehovah will make his name and Godship known to everyone on the earth. (Ezekiel 36:23)
In answer to the oricinal question..
Delusions
Logic failure
Lack of scepticism
Fear of responsibility
Fear of loneliness
Overdeveloped sense of self importance
Denial of reality
Cut and past gene

I can see why your a atheist, true to your word you got nothing.
jomifl; Will you be putting a cross or a tick behind each of those?
So, after 253 postings, goodlife tells us "you got nothing". That wasn't the question goodlife, naomi asked what do you think you have that the rest of us don't? Please try and keep up.
Question Author
Steve, I always did throw a good party. ;o)
Khandro, why is a tick or a cross necessary after the answer to a question? If you answer this question there is no need to put a tick or cross after it :o)

Steve. I think you have identified Khandro's problem, he dimly remembers that there is some connection between crosses and religion but I don't think the ancient christians had problems with ticks.
