When it is time for listening and they persist in talking, they deprive themselves of what may be important instruction.

Hello GL Ignoring questions wont make them go away. ! But it will drive people away ! You quote the Gospel of Mark , a man who you don't know actually existed . An imaginary man who wrote about another man called Jesus of whom there is no contemporary evidence existed.
Mark an imaginary man who didn't write anything about the resurrection , an imaginary event on which Christianity is based.

goodlife, in case the reference to irony has escaped you, do you not realise the JW are the worst culprits in the talking and not listening group? When ever anybody from your sect knocks my door I ask questions but they don't even try to answer, they just ramble on with their preconceived notions, which is totally irrelevant to the question. To help you understand I will use your favourite book and suggest you read Matthew 7:5.

The World English Bible translates the passage as:

You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye,and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.

From Goodlife’s preferred translation of the bible, I would say Matthew 7:3 is most appropriate.

Baldric I often wonder if GL is real . It's a bit like trying to interrupt an automated recorded message. Maybe he's an ' agent provocateur ' .
If he is, he's doing a pretty good job.

When JWs knock on my door I always say " I will listen to you as long as you don't quote or show me the bible . That always leaves them tongue tied.

I think they are so brain washed they have lost the ability to speak and think for themselves.

I think GL has got the above proverb absolutely right when you substitute ' JW ' for 'man '.

Let me help you. The Greek word rendered “hypocrite” means “one who answers” and also denotes a stage actor. In time, the word came to refer to anyone who was simply putting on an act in order to deceive others, ok.
Now if you had lived in those days, like other honesthearted people you might have been truly sickened by such religious hypocrisy. Like- do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself? You, the one preaching, “Do not steal,” do you steal? 22 You, the one saying, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? But would you have allowed the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees to embitter you to the extent that you would reject all religion, including that which was taught and practiced by Jesus Christ and his disciples?

Yes hypocritical conduct on the part of religious people may turn you lot away from religion in disgust.

However this response would also blind us to the sincerity of true worshipers. The very barriers that we build for protection against hypocrisy can, in effect, turn us away from genuine friends.

Our response to hypocrisy, is then reasonable and balanced.


You lot are so selective listeners,but when God speaks some things do you listen.

Jesus commanded them: “Go . . . make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them . . . teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.” (Matt. 28:19, 20) Is there anyone doing that today?

Or do you find yourself harboring resentment against some Christian because he receives his privileges.
