And the men wonder why the women turned them down!
The problem is religion. Abrahamic religion. Not just Islam. Christianity is fundamentally dismissive of women but most places where Christianity is common have moderated due to the secular influence.
These faiths were created by men and treat women as a resource that can be bought and sold.

Those pictures were taken in Pakistan Ratter, so yes those girls probably were Muslim- do you include them in your 'disgusting people' generalisation?
The problem as Beso correctly points out is with all of the Abrahamic religions, women are second class in all of them. This problem of deliberate disfigurement and burning occurs not just in Islam but across the board in Asia and Africa. We won't get anywhere in stopping this by going on another Muslim hating rant, because a lot of the people trying to stop this are Muslims.

All peoples should be aware of the warning in Revelation..." Babylon the Great" the world empire of false religion, is to be eliminated by the " Beast" which is the present U.N. Once the U.N. is given power by the combined [ human] governments of the world, it will commence to BAN ALL RELIGIONS...AND WILL SUCCEED.
But when it gets to the religion approved by God, it will fail.
So what IS that religion?
It is the one being properly obedient...
1. Copying what Jesus did. John 13:15
2. Preaching the good news...Luke 4:43...Matthew 24:14...Acts 20:20
3. Treating women with respect..as co- workers and helpers
Apply these basics to all religions and only one passes the test.

..... both areas with large Muslim populations. Whilst people of other religions have been known to indulge in such practices, none do it quite so prolifically as the people of Islam - and none so readily excuse it. This constant apologist nonsense does nothing whatsoever to educate the barbarian - and that's exactly what people who do this are. Wrong is wrong - and blame where blame is due.
Khandro, you might be surprised.
pugwashjw, are you sure Revelations mentions the UN? Gosh! A link to that would be really super!

It's not 'apologist nonsense' Naomi, its a fact, and I know you don't like those if they disagree with your perception of the world but it's offensive in the extreme to imply I am an 'apologist' for such behaviour. I am certainly not- I simply see the problem of equal rights for women to be far larger than the situation occuring within Islam. If you want to look a one tiny area of a problem then fine go right ahead, but don't accuse those of us attempting to view the whole terrible situation and assess it reasonably so relevant action can be taken in ALL cases as being 'apologists' for the very behaviour we are trying to eliminate. To be honest dragging this thread down to another Muslim bashing extravaganza is completely counter productive to the many Muslim groups working tirelessly to eradicate this within their own societies.
kvalidir, well, from someone who has no hesitation in accusing everyone else of ranting, that's a rant if I ever saw one! Rest assured there is absolutely nothing you can teach me about Muslim groups working to eradicate the wrongs committed against women.
Khandro, I'm not at home and my internet connection here is not good enough to research anything. All so slow - and then it collapses altogether. Sorry, perhaps you could have a look.
