well it is Egyptian Arabic - and I dont think the translation is too bad quite honestly.

We dont know what the context is - the interviewer is clearly incredulous that beating is on the er menu in the first place....

I put it in the same category with the Christian sect who demonstrates at American funerals that the trooper has died in afghanistan as a result of Gods judgement over gay marriage.

The wiki entry on Memri is worth reading - I was surprised at the mistranslation section - 'the Jews are killing us' mistranslated as 'we will annihilate the Jews'. oops. the words are very clearly the first....

But how much of this is being preached in Mosques around the world ? A lot of Muslims are uneducated and illiterate and are therefore susceptible to being brainwashed by idiots like this. Its a small step to being told its OK to beat you wife and being told that its OK to put some explosives into a knapsack and take a ride on the Tube. Or perhaps to go to fight in Syria.

In the second video, at least, it ought to be relatively easy to check even without the accurate translation. "The prophet Muhammed is the example we must follow" -- yes, I think that's pretty much a given for Islam, right? So, did he sleep with a nine-year-old in the Koran? I can't say I know the answer to that, but hopefully someone with more familiarity with the Koran might do?
