When people, especially the young, fall foul of unavoidable diseases and die, the religious often justify the loss by saying “It’s God’s will”, and yet when asked why they think a loving God would have willed that disease on the victim, they say “It’s not God’s fault”. How does that work?

Keyplus, I’ve asked how God can will it but not be held responsible for willing it. Can you really explain something that is so utterly illogical?

Zacs, I try to understand, rationally, irrationality. That's all. Faced with logical argument, and in the absence of a genuine 'Get out of jail free card', the faithful often choose to make themselves scarce - but there is no chase.
Naomi,I think you are, hitherto, winning the point comfortably. Will take a good 'un to have you on the ropes ;-)
Figure of speech. You just keep plugging away girl!
Question Author
ag, Thank you - I sincerely look forward to meeting a good 'un.

Zacs, :o)
Maybe you should ask a very simple question differently as your repeated attempts have been in vain!!
Question Author
ag, I wouldn't say that. I know at least one person around here who has been sensible enough to reclaim possession of her senses. :o)
Lol - I try to be as direct as possible! ;-)
Question Author
Not with you. Go on, go for it! I like a straight talker. :o)
Ok,God willing! :-o
Question Author
Nope. Still nothing.
According to Mel Brooks it all started like this ::::

Haaa! I hadn't seen that before. Very good. :o)
I really like the " I hear you, I hear you...a deaf man could hear you " !
I wonder what the other five were?

Haaaaaaaaaa! How funny! What do you think?
:-)
Thou shalt not allow Italians to drive.

Beer should not be chilled to a point that deprives it of any taste, and makes your fillings hurt.

The taste of mustard is what is important, not how yellow it is.

Thou shalt not take the p1ss out of The Archers.

Thou should not take the p1ss out of the lovers of The Archers either.
naomi; You once again demonstrate your well-worn formula (don't you ever tire?); of asking a fatuous question, based on a false assumption, in order to bask in the accolades of those similarly confused.
Khandro...I don't think that is very fair at all. Naomi has posted a reasonable question that the believers on here have not been able to reply to with enthusiasm. I thought it a very good question...how about you have a go at answering the question yourself...where is God when all the *** is flying around ? Where is God in the Gaza Strip ...there are enough people there that invoke his name with monotonous regularity after all.
Rather patronising Khandro. As Mikey correctly says the believers have not made any meaningful case.Could that be because there is no explanation, rather than the non-believers being 'confused'
