Of all the world's religions it's only the Moslems are perpetually in the public eye. Not only that but if we try to intervene to suggest a course of action we're told to mind our our business as we're 'alienating them' yet if we don't their own spiritual leaders appear to be either impotent or indifferent.
Individually I'm sure they're as sensible and warm-hearted as everyone else but their religion seems only to be happy when they're stirring up trouble.
So when is a child not a child? Male and female?
Teaching is not just formal instruction.
If a family accepts the words and actions of a father as law and ignores a mother what chance is there of a change of perspective?
There is always chance of change, but some things are so engrained it takes many many generations to gradually shift as each is taught the same beliefs as the previous and dismisses/adds very little. Other religions have changed since the Middle Ages.
I sort of feel uncomfortable there not to see the usual acknowledgement that many who follow the religion are not in support of the extreme acts some of the others perform. For sure there is a growing indication that some of the moderates do have sympathy, and that is sad, but I suspect many, particularly those in western societies, are genuinely appalled at what is done allegedly in their name.
I also note that where the religion holds sway is often in societies where the masses are not rich, and that breeds discontent; and a tendency to listen to those preaching that it isn't their fault, it's those nasty other tribes who need to pay in blood; or some such message. Using past events to place blame, painting western society as on the side of devils. etc. etc. etc.
It's likely to be a long time changing to a more realistic understanding of the world. Exposure to the realities of other cultures and it's citizens, may hasten that. The Internet can be a good thing. It's more difficult to despise another whom you have learn is a decent sort just trying to get along in life, much as oneself.
Bonsoir.. coming or going anytime after 6pm give or take several hours either side. I've known French people say bonjour at 9 in the evening and bonsoir at 3 in the afternoon. Bonne nuit ..when you are off to bed or thereabouts. Ambiguity is the essence of the French language which is why they take so long to say anything as every point has to be clarified. That's my take on it.
I do not have enough time to go through everything here. But I am sure I do have a reply to each and every thing that has been mentioned here.
Daisy – First of all I am not sure why are you asking me to explain the action of a badly behaving child who I don’t even know. Perhaps you should have asked his parents there and then. Please do share with us what they said if you did ask them. However if you believe it has anything to do with religion then you are just wrong and you have no knowledge.
Many people want to know my views about Paris attack. So I would say what I always say that these people are terrorists and what they are doing has nothing to do with religion. And just like that child Daisy talked about these people were not related to me either so I am not sure what made them do that. However Western countries will have to rethink about their direct or indirect involvement in the Muslims countries where over half a million people have died in last 12 to 13 years. Then comes freedom of speech and all I can say is that freedom of speech and freedom to insult are two different things and in same France one can’t question Holocaust or even its intensity. So these double standards of freedom of speech will have to be looked at. And here is an example of double standards of freedom of speech of that particular magazine. Now what does anyone say about this?
Someone asked about terrorist attacks in Pakistan (Peshawar school attack) so here are the people who are behind most of those attacks under the eyes of America (CIA) in Afghanistan. This person is Ajit Doval and he is national security advisor to Indian govt and was in Afghanistan at that time and was in regular touch with the terrorist who attacked that school. Here he explains how he does it.
They need to develop a sense of humour, , have a bacon sarnie, a slosh of whisky and just LIGHTEN UP !! Life is waaayy too short to spend your days being offended by everything and everyone.
These terrorists are just doing what their Koran tells them to do. Why should non-Muslims face the penalty of death just for drawing a cartoon of a non existent God, totally absurd and sick!!
// Keyplus, What action do you support for Moslems to take when they are confronted by those who insult Islam and Mohammed (PUBH)? //
We'll probably be left guessing the answer to that, but I'd expect the usual 'violence is wrong but if you insult the prophet you've brought it on yourself' type weasel words we hear so often.
