In the face of the threatening calamitous end of all the nations of the world the good news has had to be preached in all the nations before their end comes. The good news has been a much-needed comfort to people of all races and nationalities. The failure to preach the good news would have left all people hopeless amid this world distress that now nears its catastrophic climax. (Matt 24:14)

Well has “the scene of this world” really changed so much since a mental-health director for the World Health Organization, wrote: We live in a time of extremely fast changes, which end up causing anxiety and stress at levels never before seen in mankind’s history. Has that been your personal experience?
People by and large, his propaganda has succeeded, for people remain optimistic in spite of mounting evidence that conditions are going from bad to worse.
Do such efforts by world leaders constitute the complete fulfillment of 1 Thessalonians 5:3, or was Paul referring to a specific event of such dramatic proportions as to claim world attention?

As you are quoting Thessalonians, Goodlife, I wonder if you can explain the following verses from the previous chapter for me, please:
"15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
I'm using the King James version because of its literary qualities.

The new NWT says
For this is what we tell you by Jehovah’s word, that we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord shall in no way precede those who have fallen asleep in death; because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with the Lord.”—1 Thessalonians 4:15-17.
The congregation in Thessalonica was relatively new when Paul addressed his first letter to Christians there in about 50 C.E. Members of the congregation were distressed that some of their number were “sleeping in death.” However, what Paul wrote comforted the Thessalonians with the resurrection hope.
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant concerning those who are sleeping in death; that you may not sorrow just as the rest also do who have no hope. For if our faith is that Jesus died and rose again, so, too, those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus God will bring with him. Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Consequently keep comforting one another with these words.”—1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
So the countdown to the end of this present wicked system continues irrevocably. With the passing of every hour, every minute, every second, as approach striking events prophesied long ago.

Yes,but some were humble and listen, most of the great men of this world live as if they were atheists.
Their claims that they worship God have not held them back from the massacres, aggressive wars, oppressions, tortures and treachery that have been continuing features of history. Evidently, when God has spoken, they have not been listening either. (Jas. 1:19)

Naomi//take a child buys or makes a gift for his parent, the parent is delighted to see the child develop an appreciative and giving spirit.//
//You’re not a child.//
I think you have missed the point here. I know I am not the most intelligent person in the world, but even I can see what GL is getting at here.
Have you never appreciated the gift your child gives you, whether it be a tiny flower or just a scribble on a piece of paper?
It is the same with God, whatever a person gives out of his heart felt appreciation is accepted. Most churches I know and attended have a system whereby you contract to give a certain amount each week. My old church used to issue dated envelopes for you to put in your money and woebetide you if you missed a week.
As you say you know your bible, you will recall the account where Jesus sat in the synagogue watching the people and he noticed those putting in lots of money with a great show, and then comes a long a little old widow who puts in the smallest amount possible but it is all she has!. Which donation did Jesus say was more appreciated by God?
So if you can't afford to give, I think the point GL is making is that it does not matter to God.
I know I give as and when I can. It maybe that sometimes I have no money on me so can't give. But another time I may give only a little. But I know I hate it when the collection plate came and it contained loads of notes, makes you feel small giving only a couple of coins.
