Why Cant God Cure Amputees ?
58 Answers
If God/Jesus can supposedly , cure blindness, cure cripples , cure disease in humans etc. why can't he regrow a little finger let alone an arm or leg ?
Could it be you can't fake a missing arm or leg !
I have seen many supposedly blind and crippled beggars in the Middle East being apparently cured but never an amputee .
I remember a similar question several years ago which no one could answer but now we have you goodlife so maybe this time we will get an answer,

I thought you would be able to understand the dichotomy of your questioning my hearing the voice of Ruach ha Kodesh, attributing the experience instead to mental illness, and your own voice hearing of a conscience, but I was wrong obviously... either that or you haven't got one...

Clanad, //"...I think you're avoiding answering my question..." is always one of your responses...//
Only when you avoid answering my questions … as in this case.
//O... so as not to be accused of not answering your question I'd gladly refer you to John 10: 26-28... pretty well sums it up, no?//
No. I would really like to know firstly whose voice you think you and your wife are hearing, and secondly, since you now appear to be intimating that those voices don't belong to some disembodied entity as first implied, but simply to your conscience in action, how your 'conscience' leads you - and your wife - to discovering the whereabouts of a missing phone.

Maybe if I speak more... slowly...
My response re: conscience was a response to your accusation that hearing voices could only be a symptom of mental illness. My implication is that nearly everyone has a conscience that "speaks" to them from time to time, no? Since you believe that hearing any such "disembodied" voices infers mental illness and you would most likely deny being inflicted with any kind of mental illness of your own then surely you have no conscience. Oh, well... so much for the vaunted British quality of ironic humor.
Look... my relating the episode of the lost cell phone was to only substantiate my belief the the Creator of the universe not only loves us so deeply that He Himself was willing to pay our sin debt that separated us from Him but He also wants to be involved with our every day life. I'm sincerely apologetic that that went way over your head.
Naomi, for you to mistake my explanation of my clear belief that Yahweh, through the promised gift of Ruach Ha Kodesh, speaks to us on a daily basis vs. a mere conscience is simply your effort, as usual, to argue for argument's sake and not to respect or at least have some understanding of the reality of a Creator God.
Finally, John 10: 26-28 does sum up, quite clearly, the believer's expectation of hearing and being heard by such a caring and involved Creator, or haven't you read it?

Not at all. You brought conscience into the discussion and I, quite justifiably, questioned its role in this 'voices' scenario you've painted. You seem to be bouncing around somewhat haphazardly so attempting to speak more slowly, as you suggest, is probably a good idea. It may at least give you time to decide what it is you're actually talking about.
//I'm sincerely apologetic that that went way over your head.//
No, you're not 'sincerely apologetic'. You're disingenuous. You know very well it didn't go over my head which is why your only recourse is more sarcasm.
//…not to respect or at least have some understanding of the reality of a Creator God.//
What reality? Voices in your head don't count as evidence of reality and they don't automatically command the respect of those who have the wherewithal to ask unwelcome questions. Yet again you offer the fanciful ramblings of an anonymous author as though that somehow proves something. It doesn’t. And yes, I've read it.

It's comforting that God will help us to find a missing phone.
But he won't help an African mother find clean water to save her baby's life.
Comforting because it shows that we are definitely His favourites.
Slightly less comforting for Africans, obviously.
It shows also that God doesn't want Apple to make money from selling a replacement phone. So God is presumably a Samsung Galaxy user.
If God dropped His phone, he'd NEVER find it. It could be anywhere in the Universe.

Ah… very good, naomi… If you have a conscience then you also hear voices… so by your declination you are suffering a soi-disant mental illness.
May I ask to whom you are referring when you describe the fanciful ramblings of an anonymous author? If it is the Apostle John then on what evidence do you lean to describe him as anonymous?

Around and around we go. You've been watching too much Jiminy Cricket. I don’t hear voices - I simply possess a moral sense of right and wrong. Perhaps you will clarify once and for all the source of these voices that you and your wife claim to hear. Your introduction of the 'conscience' into the discussion is clouding the issue.

Authorship is unknown. If you claim to know differently the onus is upon you to produce supporting evidence.
Don't you think JJ's post merits serious consideration? I mean, seriously …. why would the spirit in the sky concern itself with the whereabouts of your phone when it's failing utterly to address far more important issues?

Actually, God's main priority in recent decades has been far more important.
It has been supporting American sportsmen.
Americans never win (say) Golf, or Athletics, without thanking The Lord for giving them the strength and determination to win.
You're never going to beat a golfer who has God on his side. Your ball is sailing through the air, heading for the green, and then (God helps the American) ... your ball suddenly drops out of the air into a bunker!
I suppose the moral is ... is you're playing golf against an American, keep your shots low. Don't get them up in the air where You Know Who can interfere with them.
